Problem is we are going on the same flight with the same pilot for a 3rd time.......ok this metaphor is played out.

Of course, we have no other option but to let it play out. But we almost certainly know how this ends. And the stubbornness out of the UKAA has created an environment where the fanbase almost has to raise holy hell or their pleas will be ignored. If we didn't raise hell Stoops and Calipari would still be here. Heck, Joker may still be here. Barnhart can't leave fast enough imo.
See, the thing is, we really don't know how this is going to play out. I would agree if both season's went the way year 2 went, but that's not the case.
Yeah 1 had some WTF moments, but for the most part, there were way more high's than lows and if Butler, Carr and Robinson stay healthy, who knows where they would have ended up.
Year 2 was a disaster and Pope is to blame. Roster construction was terrible, but the team obviously didn't like each other and our 1 pg and our bigtime talent at C, didn't play for different reasons.
I have no idea how year 3 is going to go, but my hope is, it's either a huge success, or just bad enough that firing Pope, is the obvious right move, because if he makes another sweet 16, he might save his job and that just means we're stuck with a guy that has a sweet 16 ceiling.
But like I said, Pope is skating on the thinnest ice known to man and these recruiting misses made it even thinner.
