If you recite the American shahada then yes, or at the very least a green cardSo what is the status? Walk in and you get full citizenship?

Hang around GDead_Tiger and you apparently learn something. I had never heard the word "Shahada" until I noticed it in your post, above. I Googled the term, and discovered that the Shahada is the Islamic profession of faith, and the First of the "Five Pillars of Islam."I think "closing the border" is a complete nonsense issue tbh. If anything we should welcome more immigrants. We need an "American shahada"
Clearly not, but there should be some meaningful pathway to citizenship. And, although some waiting period before the grant of full citizenship (or even legal residency status) is appropriate, it should not be so lengthy as to make citizenship a sham. A twenty-five year wait effectively deprives many immigrants who arrive here in their middle years of ever becoming a U.S. citizen. Similarly, there should be some agreement on the kinds of benefits and rights that immigrants should and should not enjoy prior to becoming citizens. Legal immigration should be preferred, and governmental benefits that are afforded to noncitizens should be largely limited to legal immigrants. (If noncitizens are expected to pay income, sales and property taxes, should they not receive at least some of the benefits that those taxes are funding?)So what is the status? Walk in and you get full citizenship?
This is just unforgivable... He must be destroyed. From the Tucker show (to his brother):
“You and I and everyone else who supported him — you wrote speeches for him, I campaigned for him — we’re implicated in this for sure,” Tucker Carlson said. “It’s not enough to say, ‘Well, I changed my mind’ or, like, ‘Oh, this is bad. I’m out.’ It’s, like, in very small ways, but in real ways, you and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now.”
Like MTG, I've always thought that Tucker's cheese has slid off his cracker. But you Trumpians have to really hate this. Tucker used to be your boy to the point that you were on your knees daily, banging your heads on the floor and screaming: "There is no God but Trump and Tucker is is Phophet."
Love it. Some good in-fighting. Democrats don’t do this. What democrats call each other out like this? Bill Maher? Is he even a democrat anymore? James Carville?
Sorry you don’t like his personality. I happen to like it because for years we had republicans like Paul Ryan from Wisconsin that would constantly fold and let us down. The resulting policies were DEI and a resulting lurch to the left of the Overton window by democrats. Why do you love it?
You could have Vance (or Rubio, or really any other prominent GOP), but you get off on this stupidity? Somehow this is qualifying to be president in your mind?
This isn’t presidential. It’s an octogenarian sitting alone in the corner because he sh*t himself again, forgot his meds and won’t stop rambling on about irrelevant grievances from days gone by.
If this was your elderly uncle at your house acting like this you would be telling his kids they need to put dad in a home.
Just so I have this straight:Sorry you don’t like his personality. I happen to like it because for years we had republicans like Paul Ryan from Wisconsin that would constantly fold and let us down. The resulting policies were DEI and a resulting lurch to the left of the Overton window by democrats.
Trump came along and calls it like he sees it, and I love it. Democrats tried to perfect what was “allowed” to be said, cancelling anyone that didn’t agree with them. Getting the government to censor their speech on Twitter. And that lead to DEI and the Tranny nonsense.
So forgive me if I love america, love the first amendment, love to see debate, love to see **** talking. I hate people that walk on egg shells with what they say. Talk about it so we can hash it out instead of burying it. When you talk about it, common sense will prevail. See the tranny nonsense. Ever since we can openly ridicule it, the numbers of trans have fallen off a cliff.
We spent over $200 billion in Ukraine. Leaders from both sides are retarded and get us into terrible positions. This isn’t isolated to one person or party. Stop pretending it is.Just so I have this straight:
We are once again mired in the Middle East because you got offended when someone told you what pronoun they prefer and Trump gave you tacit permission to call those people “fаgs”?
In what world are those remotely equivalent issues?

I’ve already stated to you in another thread, I think Trump is doing a great job, minus Iran. It appears he miscalculated on Iran. It’s not nearly enough for me to want to support democratic policies and anyone thinking Kammy would do better is a complete idiot. She is that bad.
To summarize my point, I like Trumps post. I like how he calls people out. I don’t think he is always right, I just respect the dialogue and back and forth. That’s just me, I understand a lot of people like others who just sit down and shut up.
not kidemike, but out of curiosity, why do we need to or want to invite legal immigrants who we have to put on government benefits? We're $40trillion in debt and do we really need more dependents?Clearly not, but there should be some meaningful pathway to citizenship. And, although some waiting period before the grant of full citizenship (or even legal residency status) is appropriate, it should not be so lengthy as to make citizenship a sham. Illegal immigrants should be denied a broad range of governmental benefits, in part as an inducement for them to seek to immigrate legally. Some quantum of public health benefits might be appropriate, if only as a means of protecting general public health. Illegal immigrants should also be eligible to drive, because they would drive anyway, and many of them would so so without either a license or auto insurance. Licensing them makes them easier to track and regulate. That already happens. A thornier question is what limits should there be on an illegal immigrants' right to employment. A categorical prohibition on employment is not practically viable. No U.S. citizens are employed in picking fruits and vegetables. The construction industry (particularly residential construction) would cease to function if it could not hire illegal immigrants. It is illegal now, but that law is completely ignored.
It is also clear that we cannot be home to every person in this world who wants to immigrate here. These are issues that need to be discussed and negotiated in good faith by members of both parties. It is most likely to succeed if they have a small delegation of Congressional moderates from each party who have demonstrated some degree of goodwill toward members of the other party, and who feel a genuine sense of urgency toward procuring a legislative solution to this problem.
You appear to be on the right track, kidmike41. I welcome your reply.

We don’t need them. They want them here to vote. It’s obvious. Name one other reason the party that hates men and patriarchy want to usher in millions of men from the most patriarchal places on earth. It’s always been a power grab. Roughly 47–59% of non-citizen-headed households (a mix of legal permanent residents and unauthorized immigrants) used one or more traditional means-tested programs. For immigrant-headed households overall, rates were around 53%.Republicans want a fair immigration system that benefits, not hinders, Americans. I don't see how bringing in people whom we have to support is a benefit?
How can't you see the entire GOP is experiencing exactly what you describe in your last paragraph? Anyone that speaks their mind or disagrees w Trump is ex-communicated.I like how he can speak like a junior high teen when people address him like a junior high teen. I like somebody who gives it back and stand's their ground. The Mitt Romney's of the world kept losing.
When people don't speak their mind for fear of social repercussion you get group think. Group think can lead to bad results.

I have no doubt that many of his supporters share your views. Most just won’t admit it like you do. Instead they talk vaguely about supporting the “policies,” not necessarily the man. But more than anything they love the juvenile trash talking and making it ok to be more open about their bigoted views.Sorry you don’t like his personality. It’s a bad look, imo, but you do you, I guess.
I was a registered Republican until 2017. I’d been pulling away from them for awhile but Trump and MAGA trash was the last straw for me.If there’s one thing I’ve learned through trumpism it’s just how ugly the ugly “americans” are. And I could actually agree with a lot of the conservative principles as a former republican - but they’re just nasty uncouth, unamerican trash. Will not associate.
Why won’t the SAVE act pass? How can't you see the entire GOP is experiencing exactly what you describe in your last paragraph? Anyone that speaks their mind or disagrees w Trump is ex-communicated.
I agree it’s a bad look, but so is the way the democrats treated Trump even prior to him being President. Because it's a terrible bill & completely unnecessary. Also, WTF does that have to do w this thread? Why won’t the SAVE act pass?
Kanye West said that, not democrats like you think. I have to say, you're a fascinating poster. The economy isn’t great. I despise the failure we are calling the Iran conflict. Not a fan of several of the Trump policies…. And I would still vote for him over Kamala or any liberal period. I’m not voting for some trans wacky, redistribution of wealth, open border, hand out queen, communist - ever. You don’t know what you’re talking about. You and many Lefties here are simpletons and assume that all Trump supporters support everything he does. Maybe you should look in the mirror and see how awful some of your policies are. I think Tucker went over the top here, but I have no problem with him breaking with Trump. I supported DeSantis over Trump and would support JD Vance over Trump. I believe the war is a horrible mistake. Too bad there isn't anyone with an IQ of 50 on the other side. This is just unforgivable... He must be destroyed. From the Tucker show (to his brother):

At least he's admitting what we've all known for years. It really isn't about his policies at all, in fact, they will conveniently ignore every disastrous policy that harms our country as long as he oWnS tHE lIbS! Because shitting on people they don't like is the only "policy" that truly matters to them. Nothing else comes close.Sorry you don’t like his personality. I happen to like it because for years we had republicans like Paul Ryan from Wisconsin that would constantly fold and let us down. DERPI agree it’s a bad look, but so is the way the democrats treated Trump even prior to him being President. Same way they treated Bush. “George Bush don’t care about black oeople”
Come to think of it, when have democrats treated any Republican like sane adults? And yes, Republicans do the same thing. Welcome to the world of politics where there is no high road.
Unfortunately the Republicans did that in the 80s under Reagan and the Dems welshed on their side of the deal. They will do it again, because their core policy is to import as many people as they can to create dependency and what they view as Dem voters in the future. Trump and others should make it hard to be here illegally and force illegals to self-deport. With everything going digital it is doable.Closing the border is a must. I am pro immigration, and I want congress to streamline the process, but we can't just have folks streaming in with no clear path forward. The ICE raids were stupid and we have argued about that before. It was my hope that with enough public backlash to the deportation that it would force congress to get off their butts.

Of course you conveniently ignore how they actually vote so you can fear-monger about importing Democratic voters. Maybe if you focused more on winning their vote, you wouldn't be so afraid of them. You had them where you wanted them in 2024 and now you've blown that all to hell. That's on you.We don’t need them. They want them here to vote. It’s obvious. Name one other reason the party that hates men and patriarchy want to usher in millions of men from the most patriarchal places on earth. It’s always been a power grab.
