I'm trying, but I see no hope in the future for UK basketball. If you do, I would love to hear it.
It’s bad for two reasons. He’s not worth it, but Pope has to massively overpay to get anyone to even consider coming here. His reputation is so crap now we stand no chance getting anyone. Our only hope is about 4-5 late entries when everyone else is filled up or de-commits later on. We are screwed.
Secondly anyone worth a **** that has any other options, is going to use us and dip immediately like we have now seen twice with 100% to UK guys.
Pope was a bad hire; wasn't qualified for the position. I appreciate Pope’s effort but this isn't the job for him.

I’d say it is not. Would have been a big risk for sure. Just adds to the body of work. The Pope/Fox snowball has gained so much size and momentum. That snowball has got BBN in its sights and there isn’t a darn thing we can do to slow it down. Sucks feeling helpless and for the first time in a long time already feeling like next season is hopeless.

Did the entire rest of the country play under the same conditions? I never whined incessantly about Cal like you guys do about everything anyway. The fact is that season was 100% on him and there is no way around it despite all of your delusional efforts.
If we miss on Stokes it is going to go from bad to worse. We are going to struggle to field a half competitive team.

Could be a 20 loss season, could be an 8 loss season, though there's a lot higher shot at the 20. There are still players that we can sign that would give us a very talented squad next year. Its getting late quick though
Stating fact is not whining. He had a crappy season and he was responsible. I never whined about him or demanded his removal. What state law or restriction do you claim to have caused a 9-16 season?
Eddie Sutton was an excellent bench coach and had a good eye for talent. His drinking problem ruined his career at UK.
I'd say it was more so the NCAA setup that the Lexington Herald definitely bears some responsibility for that did him in at Kentucky. His turning to the bottle under the stress of it all certainly exacerbated
the situation.
You posted this as if it is fact. Has there been an official report? Do you have a link to provide or is this just a guess and a desire to be negative?

In other words it is just your opinion and your desire to be negative. I've never been very confident about getting him and Oregon would not be a shock but I'll not jump to shut it down with UK as the loser before it actually plays out.

Do you remember this thing called lockdowns and social distancing? Do you know the restrictions KY had compared to other states, that UK had compared to other schools? Clearly not!

I agree it was a setup in terms of everything that happened whether he did put money in or he didn't. I've worked packaging before when I was young. If something came open, you taped it up and it got sent on its way. You didn't call the LA Times.

KY had laws that were different from say, TX, where Baylor was and who eventually won it all. While having an almost month break mid season during the season due to covid restrictions.
Neither a Cal friend nor Pope foe. Nor should you need to be either to be honest. Yet...here you are!

You would have had to outline exactly what they were, how that is relevant to UK BB and allow the claims to be subject to scrutiny to have any point at all. Stoops having to play an all SEC schedule would be a legitimate reason for his season. Can you provide any such specific reason for Cal or is the blanket nonsensical claim all you have? How on earth did Louisville manage to win 24 games in the same state under the same rules?
