We looked like this a little over a year ago.Not to jinx things, but we've barely had a thunderstorm this spring, and the same last fall. But it's been really warm compared to "normal". March was 6.5 degrees warmer, and so far April has been 5 degrees above normal. The entire heating season was quite a bit warmer than it was supposed to be.
We got just under a half inch last night, but still 6 inches short on rainfall for the year. Still better off for rain than you guys in north Mississippi.

Looking like a strong El Niño too.we are flipping from La Nina to El Nino. It will probably be a wetter than average summer. Lower tropical activity, too
The bigger picture usually wins out.Looking like a strong El Niño too.
I’ve seen several groups of dirt movers getting after it, something usually not seen in April. We just need some rain. Everyone has stopped planting because we have run out of topsoil moisture. I have never in my life said that statement in April ever.
This has been exactly where my mind goes for most of the last 30+ years when someone mentions El Niño.
