Crookham is such a roll of the dice.

High ceiling, could be a finalist.

Low floor, cold be injured and doesn't wrestle in the post season.
I expect even TNT will have the good sense to layer Crookham in bubble wrap and handle him with kid gloves. For instance, don't look for Crookham in the prestigious Sergeant Salute tournament.

If Crookham is smart he will get his bag in one large payment before he gets there, If Iowa is smart they will distribute his pay weekly.
As long as he willingly takes his weekly shot and is willing to use a wheelchair to get on the mat if needed Bob's check will continue to clear.

Looking forward to Crookham taking the mat on the back side of the blood round in St. Louis with an arm brace, knee brace, two knee pads, a walker, and a neck brace.

Crookham could be the 1st Hawk since Derek St John to win a scramble. ;)
Also, only the 2nd transfer to win a title. If he did, which I doubt he does. All the money they've spent on transfers for one total individual champion since the portal started in 2018.

Listed at 5-10 ... which means he's probably not 5-10.

HWT looks weaker next year and has few gargantuans. Also no Josh Barr. Probably a smart move even if undersized.

Also one less rental HWT available for Taylor to let Ross develop.
Yep. Could knock Ross one further step down on the podium.

I don't particularly like Angelo's style, but he is one heck of a wrestler, and I wish he had a coach who would open up his offense. I also don't see him faking an injury or defaulting when not hurt ... that just doesn't seem like his mentality.

Now, AJ is another story. His biggest injury is between his ears, and it's not gonna heal.
AJ is one of the top 3 🫢I won’t say it in front of young people. Angelo has been brainwashed by his ____Father also

They may not be gargantuan but I'm 6'2 or a little over. My reach, length and size difference with a 5'9/5'10 guy is large. Idk man. He'd be way better off at 197 being as he isn't winning a title at either weight.

There are not many Kyle Snyders out there that can overcome such a length disadvantage. He'd have a great shot to end up in the finals at 197, IMO as a heavy (even in a weak year) he'll struggle to AA.

Officially 5-11 Snyder did it against 3 far superior HWT years, in terms of both size and quality. Yes, he's not Snyder. Nathan Taylor is probably the best big guy and not exactly Dhesi or Hall, let alone Gwiz or Coon.

Nearly all of the AA-level heavies this year are under 240 -- not terribly bigger than Endene's likely walking around weight.

He's probably better off eating.

I'm not concerned about weight really. I just don't see how he's getting to legs and gonna handle the large reach advantage. He's a good, tremendously explosive wrestler. I just think he's better off at 197.

That may end up true. We'll find out next March.

Weight isn't the only concern, true enough. Gwiz and Medbery are 6-1. Dhesi, Hall, Nevills, and Kasper are all at least 6-2. Coon is 6-5. All of whom would be finalists or champs in the 2027 HWT field.

As far as reach advantage goes -- who other than Taylor and Kueter (both 6-3)? Feldman is 5-11. I can't find Carroll's height except this from Earl Smith: "he’s much shorter than your typical DI heavyweight."

When I said this isn't a gargantuan HWT field, I didn't just mean weight.

Fair points. I'll be very curious to see him against other heavies.

I saw Carroll at the OTTs a few years back during the fan fest. I’d guesstimate he’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 5’9”-6’ tall

I’m also assuming he knows how he matches up with Kueter and this probably has something to do with him going heavyweight. Kueter is one of the taller guys at heavy right now. Length obviously matters but strength does as well. His explosiveness will be a huge plus. I think he does well and gets on the podium

Endene needs to hit the weights. How can he AA with those noodle arms. Tom Ryan 2026 ;-).

BS aside he has to be the most jacked wrestler in the nation.
