If Alabama has Brandon Garrison and Jasper Johnson I'd put that game up there with Arkansas and Louisville for must win. Pope can't keep letting Oats b**** him, especially not with his own players.
TBF…Oats could take his players and beat a Pope coached team. Then he could take Popes players, give Pope his, and beat a Pope coached team.

Will be curious to see his role. For a big that cant rebound or defend, he's not going to be more than a depth piece.

If he's going to have a similar role, in guessing he will get similar money. So either he just wanted out or Pope painted himself in a corner by overpaying last year when we thought he would be a key piece/starter till jq came back.

If he could motivate him to play, which he has with many bigs he could be very good. He has decent touch on his shot. When he shows up he is very good.

You are a good poster but I honestly can't agree with you on this one. BG had a few good games but most of the time he is just throwing the ball in the direction of the basket. I guess we will see how he does at Bama. He does show flashes from time to time but he was the one player I wanted to see transfer the most.

Actually think this is a good move for BG. Seemed he played best when we ran and he didn’t have to think too much. Not saying he’s not Intelligent, just that he doesn’t seem to have the best basketball IQ. The pace of Bama should help him.

I was saying that all year, especially on the short shots. The guy needs some coaching on his shot. Sadly he didn't get it here but the player also has to accept the coaching.

F him let him fall on the sword of BG and JJ
He usually has enough guys it won’t matter. They will ride the bench if they don’t play like he wants. JJ could thrive because they don’t play much defense and he can shoot. If he doesn’t gain strength and learn to handle pressure he won’t though. His physical weakness is a huge downfall.

I definitely don’t mind him transferring. I’m just saying when he played his best he was good. We will see if Oats can get him to produce like that more than 2-3 times a year.

I thought Garrison had 3 solid games late when he actually made some half hook shots, Blocked some shots. He was coming around a bit late. He’s just not a player you can trust though. Hes immature. Sometimes lazy. Very temperamental. You just can’t fully trust him.

I’m not sad to see him go. Sorry. I’m just not. He was atrocious in the Iowa St loss.

That was his issue. He never was motivated, when he faced equal talent he usually folded. When he played well he looked like he belonged and could be a valuable piece. That happened like 3-4 times a years. Then those Iowa State like games he was so bad he could not even be played.

When he was on "it" . He could be really good, the problem was consistency! I look for him to have 1 of those against us like he had against Oklahoma!

He was consistently not showing up, but he has shown a few games 'Very Few' that he could make a difference.

He’s definitely getting in a fight with Kentucky next season. Maybe Stokes. Both are fiery

Tomorrow could be one of the biggest days in recent Kentucky basketball history. A lot riding on tomorrow. Major fireworks are possible. And I don’t care which group is “humiliated” but I do care about Kentucky being great. Don’t want to die before passing UCLA. That’s what matters to me.
You talking about passing UCLA with Pope as a coach put down the bottle and go to bed

We don't have to worry about passing UCLA with the current guy at the helm. That's my stance until he proves me wrong. Get an NBA team for all I care, but win the games. And yes, as I mentioned in another thread we had some back and forth on, I will acknowledge Pope's greatness if he does great things.

PS -- the humiliation factor adds a little juice to it, cmon you have to admit. If Pope works out and becomes a legend, you will get to have some fun, a lot of it at my expense 😆

BG will get a double double against us, I would put money on it now.
We may be the new Oklahoma

I can see BG at Bama though, might not be a bad fit. As efficient as the offense is it’s not a really complex one and the bigs especially are basically just asked to screen and role, maybe screen and pop occasionally. I think he could find a role on that team and we know he’s capable of hitting some 3s.

What hasn't changed is Poop still sucks. Next season will be great. One of the two "camps" on this issue will be forever humiliated for good. Let's land all these "studs" so there's no more room for gray area and lay it all out on the line.

I am now totally on board with your point in another thread that next year will be a "win" either way. Me personally I hope it's the win that gets Poop fired but obviously I will grudgingly take the other win too and admit that keeping him is justified despite (still) not believing in him.
I think you take this message board thing a little too seriously.

I don’t disagree with anyone’s frustrations or doubts about Pope. I have plenty of both myself. So, no, if we get the version of Pope that I’m waiting on, I won’t be having fun at your expense. I’ll be glad you get to enjoy the program we all want it to be.

If Garrison was at Bama for the past 2 years and was coming to UK we would be thrilled to get him.

Any guy in the portal is flawed , otherwise they'd be playing in the NBA. And all UK fans would be talking about is how Garrison played against Santa Clara expecting him to do that every game here.

Its just the nature of fandom
