That's the story coming out of Lycoming County. I guess Rutgers wants to back up their elite status with big dollars.
Sounds like a zero got added each time the story got told.

If they're giving the Harers $1M each, just imagine what they must be giving Anthony Knox. His own building. A spaceship. The next Bobby Bonilla contract. Lifetime box seats at Yankee Stadium. Boxing lessons, bail money, and attorneys.

Knox got 1.2 million over 4 years so 300K a year which was by far the biggest nil given out by Rutgers by a large margin and it only happened bc the new AD stepped in and made it happen.

Wait until Nationals is in football stadiums, which isn't a long wait.

You mean Merrill? ;)

It was supposed to happen back in 2020 and is scheduled to happen in 2028 @ US Bank Stadium in Minn.. I don't know if this is a return gesture for 2020 or if it was a new bid.

Shirt him. He just lost to Adam Waters at Dapper Dan, so he's not gonna be ready for McEnelly and Welsh next year anyway.
No doubt.
Point is, the “Taylor doesn’t recruit over his guys” bubble was popped a long time ago since White will overlap at least 2 years with Ryder. Didn’t need Berge coming in at all.
In fact, I think there’s a good a chance he sees Berge as a bridge to White, not Ryder.

X coach " doesn't recruit over someone" is another way of saying X coach " doesn't bring in the most talent available". It's always been a dumb comment directed at PSU. Let's not stoop to the levels of the wish they were and has been.

I don’t see anyone blaming him for it. He’s doing what he should.

There were four or five guys that David could have brought in to upgrade Ryder and I am unsure about Berge being one of them. Ryder just got an AA with one arm. Berge should do about the same with two of them, and a tough cut. Understand the move though. Of interest more to me is Willie calling Jax to stay at 133. I was pretty sure he was moving up but I guess not, as Willie knows a hell of a lot more than me.

Was it not thanks in large part to silas allred being incredibly injured? I thought Ryders blood round was a free pass to AA due to injury default. That version of ryder doesn't beat a healthy allred.

Edit: yea he then lost his next match and forfeited his final. He AAed with two actual wins. Cartgena-walsh and wojieckiwics ( spelling).Ryder got very fortunate with his backside draw and history views this as an AA season when in reality the version of him that wrestled was not an AA. I'm sure healthy Ryder is an AA and likely top 5.

Whoops. He won 3. The beat Bullock as well on the backside. Thought that sounded impossible

I like the Ryder AA and couldn’t be happier but he got the draw of a lifetime AA on the backside.

Really not liking this
The bigger news to me was that this will be the last year the BIG will be held on campus (Purdue), and then cycle through neutral sites in the following years
This was brought up earlier in the year and I think that Bigs will turn to cities with bigger arenas and more lodging options.
Baltimore, Philadelphia, Meadowlands, Pittsburgh? Cleveland,Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis Omaha, ???
Maybe Des Moines??

Of course.
What to do with Michael White if he’s truly that committed to his guys Ryder and Merrill?
My guess would be (just guess from what have seen posted, no knowledge) Ryder is out due to surgery next season, so medical redshirt and then go 174, with white 184 and Merrill 197.

That’s about right, but (maybe someone can chime in with more info) I think Lockett is 174 bound. If so, where’s he go? I guess a Lockett Ryder wrestle off.

If DT is papering his holes with the likes of Bennett Berge, I’m feeling good about the future.
I mean, yeah, but what else was he gonna do? Berge is by far the best available 184 in the portal assuming he can make the weight. The only other returning AA at 174 or 184 or 197 is Edmond Ruth if he even has remaining eligibility, and Taylor isn't waiting for Ruth to get cleared.

(Not counting Endene because he never placed in D1, also he's never making 184.)

Maybe bump up Lockett + Facundo, but there's been nothing in Facundo's performance at 165/174 over multiple years to make anybody think he can make the podium at 184, where Berge did take 4th once.
