I didn't want to lose him. I'm sure Pope didn't either. But I sure as hell hope he was recruiting over Chandler. Wanted to keep him but not pay top money for a extremely average player.
He has fantastic moments . Flashes of highlight plays. But overall he's not a player you give several million to. Or 1 million. Chandler is a role player you want to keep. Not what you want to be a face of your program. I loved his game. He's just not it when it comes to the complete package.

Maybe this is a result of overpaying Aberdeen, MoD, and Lowe last year; UK players may be basing asking price on what the guys starting last year got.
Yeah, I posted that Larry Vaught article, it was from Lowe's father's mouth. That article pretty much made it clear that Pope didn't want him back. He said they "wanted" to come back but no one from Pope's staff had even talked to them about coming back and said," it is, what it is". I wasn't specifically talking about you, in fact I wonder why matt keeps saying it, I listen to KSR. This statement from Hawthorne has a different tone than Lowe. We shall see.
But this better be Pope’s wake-up call. I agree Chandler couldn’t be paid that much but Chandler quickly navigated away from “Ridin with Pope” to Take the money and run.

Very possible he is looking for better coaching and a better chance of winning. I don't and I don't think any of us have a clue why CC is leaving or where he is going. If it is chasing the dollar ,hell he could be going anywhere. I wish him and his wife the best in life.

Just read a post on Twitter and it's a good point. It'd be awfully tough to negotiate with guys in the portal if word got out Chandler is making in the ballpark of $3 million.

I don’t believe he asked for that kind of money. I think that’s an excuse for losing him. I’m worried it’s going to be like last year and they’re about to strike out on most of the top guys.

I like Chandler and want him back, so this isn't a "glad he's gone post" for sure. I think we need him. However, I have been skeptical that he is actually as good as he appeared for several weeks this year. I kinda wonder if it was just a ridiculous hot streak. He has great jumping ability, but really doesn't look like a smooth athlete to me. There is a big difference between having good athletic attributes and being an actual good athlete. That makes me question how much he will develop.
