Glad he got the laugh. Having said that, and having been to Ireland a couple of times, their food is nothing short of spectacular. From a protein standpoint, their grass fed beef and their as fresh as it gets seafood is delicious. Produce is also top notch. Would Tgar travel there for a pizza? Nah. Pot roast with carrots, broccoli and mashed potatoes for lunch? Yes.

One of the best lunches Tgar ever enjoyed was a seafood wine/ cream sauce over mashed potatoes along with fresh baked bread and a Guinness or two to wash it down. Memorable.

And their dairy products are incredible. I was just talking about this with a colleague from Dublin who lives in Chicago and is visiting Austin. I was very pleasantly surprised with all the food I had over there.

Anyone who ever has a chance to visit Ireland - especially the west of Ireland - should jump at it. Fantastic people and surroundings.

Traditional Irish food is delicious and hearty; makes sense a wussy golfer wouldn't appreciate that....

Yeah, their cheeses anre excellent and Tgar buys Kerrygold Butter which is now around $ 10.00/ pound. Expensive but oh so delicious.

I think you should call it "Celtic Soul Food".

But, I agree with McElroy. Overall, It's just boring...

It’s relative. But, putting down your home country’s cuisine is a poor look. I get he’s joking, but given an opportunity to showcase the best of Ireland he opted for a hodgepodge of items most folks only believe are good because every wannabe fine dining restaurant has them on the menu. And no Guinness??!!

Well, let's take into account that the people he is serving probably are used to finer food and wines. I am sure they enjoy a beer now and then, but I am going to guess they prefer fine wines.

No issue with the wines; but he went all French. Nothing adventurous or fun. Again - taste and wealth often do not go hand in hand. I see this a lot with the big money guys in McLean. Tons of money and multiple houses and ridiculous vacations but they think Caymus and Silver Oak are the best of Napa…

I haven't eaten in Ireland, but Scotland and England were enough. They don't have good food offerings over there. It's ok to admit it. It's not racist or anything. It's just the truth.
