Seems about right. Strong Arm and good size but questionable accuracy.
I wouldn't take him even in the fourth round; I saw enough of his inconsistencies even against mostly overmatched opponents. However, it does appear as if some team will be duped by his physical attributes and workouts in a t-shirt and shorts to take him probably as high as the fourth round. That tells you more about what a poor crop of qbs there are in this draft rather than about how good of a qb Allar really is.

This is what drives me crazy. How does this commentator know that Allar didn't get proper training at PSU? Maybe the pupil just couldn't apply what he was taught. I mean, in parts of almost every game, he looked like the best qb in the country, and then in other parts of every game, he totally lost his mechanics and poise. I guess he was soley responsible for the parts of games when he played well, and the coaches were responsible for the parts of games in which he played poorly.

That's the best part of having it both ways, like when a securities analyst says of a company's prospects that he is "cautiously optimistic". If they don't execute, he is cautious; if they do, he is optimistic.

Yeah, who knows? Either Allar is a bust, couldn't put it all together, or was overrated. He clearly did not get better. Compare to McSorley who is the best QB of the Franklin era by a mile.

McSorely certainly is, but I think PSU fans don’t appreciate Clifford enough. He had a skill set with a ceiling, but he was solid.

I appreciate Clifford much more now than I did when he was playing. There's no doubt in my mind that we would've beaten ND with him at qb. I think that he is one of the most underrated players in PSU history.

And I’m quite sure Allar has had personal coaching as well…did that guy not train him properly?

Fourth-round NFL rookie contracts are four-year deals, typically valued between $4.5 million and $4.8 million as of 2024, generally including a signing bonus of approximately $800,000–$900,000. These contracts are primarily slot-value deals, with the signing bonus, but limited guaranteed money compared to top-round picks.

plus his nil, very happy for him.

Yep that’s how it works on this board. Despite hearing repeatedly from his coaches that he needed to work on his footwork and mechanics, it’s their fault for not doing better by him.

Because Franklin has no idea how to work with a pocket passer and had him running zone read

All the personal training doesn't help when you're instructed to underthrow deep balls, never take a risk and play in an offense that you're not suited for.

For the record....its Allar's fault for staying at Penn State. Loyalty came back to bite him hard. He needed to enter the draft after his junior year or portal. He didn't. That's all on him.
