A good article but really we dont have any game evidence to speak of to know how he will play and react if he is the starter. Someone said if we are winning big in the first game to give Brown some snaps also. I have always been for playing your backups in all positions when you can. It is how the blue bloods dont miss a beat from year to year.

I hope Heck is Drew Tate 2.0 without quite as much fly off the handle mental aspects.

5' 11", 188 lbs..maybe 200+ now? - might have to bring in Brown for short yardage situations.
#1, we aint going to have any 4th and 1 situations, :)

Plus Heck, a fullback or HB and a strong running back with the threat of Heck keeping the ball is a good way to run short yardage plays. Counter to the fullback, fullback lead with RB, QB fake handoff and keeper or QB run with extra blockers.

I am not sure if we want Heck running up the middle but maybe to the outside where he can dodge, lunge forward or slide

I would take Drew Tate 2.0 with the fly off the handle mental aspects as well. Just no bail tosses please...

I am not expecting Drew Tate 2.0, but that would be great needless to say. Just hope he is mobil enough to avoid big losses and does not "bail toss". We have running backs and recievers, just get the ball to them enough on passes "DOWNFIELD" enough so running game excells.

IMO Tate 2.0 would be a dream come true.

Think of Butler and Mikaei Sargent as bruiser backs who did very well at Iowa the last 6-8 years. Leshun Daniels was maybe that weight
I suppose I’d take Sargent level production but Butler was pretty average. I think Phillips upside is higher than both though. If Moulton doesn’t make a jump, I think Phillips will be RB1.

Last I knew Butler was still a starting RB in the CFL.

It’s still somewhat of an absurdity (and also somewhat unacceptable) that this Iowa team with a top 15 roster and tons of potential still has so much uncertainty and lack of experience at the QB position. Just insane and not sure how KF doesn’t receive more criticism for this.
