Creighton loses to Providence falling to 11-8

Wait, for real? They were killing them when I looked earlier. Creighton is 100% not a bubble team right now.

Freeman recorded zero minutes? I'm honestly not sure why as he is still getting rebounds when he comes in. He doesn't do much on the offensive side. I could easily see him at Illinois next year.

He didn't play. Dix had 17.

I remember some of the people who covered Iowa basketball gushed about how great of a person he and his parents were. How he was deeply religious and would not leave for money.

Turns out he and his family are the usualy Christian fruads who will do anything for money. Freeman was a wimp who turned his back on his team and coach durthing the season. Then he got paid to go to Creighton where he got hurt and sucked.

I guess he got his money though. Dude peaked at Iowa. He's cooked now.

I can say this because he gets paid. These aren't just student athletes anymore.

You could put either Murray or Garza in a game against him and he'd outplay them, especially on the defensive end. I'm not talking about NBA prospects or NPOY numbers, I'm saying this kid is a better overall player than them because he's actually good on both ends of the court. They didn't win the Illinois state title because Harding likes to over dribble. They won because this kid is a baller again ALL competition. The MOST pleasant surprise of the Fan era. Awesome!
Gotta love posts that age like maggot-infested donkey diarrhea.

This is almost as dumb of a take as the OP.

I fail to see how taking the best paying job is being a 'Christian fraud', or means they aren't good people (i dont know them).

You are right about him peaking at Iowa, getting paid, and the idea of 'student athletes' being a complete joke

If you guys don't think some dumb team is going to give him a lot of money you're crazy. Unless he's absolutely cooked physically, which he well might be. Something is definitely wrong from that end.

I have to laugh at the title of this thread. Either now or in 2023 when this was posted, it was never true. No way Owen was ever better than Luka or Keegan, and that's just a couple players off the top of my head.

Don’t think his work ethic is the best and not a “popular “ guy in locker room. Don’t think he fits into BM’s system.
Ben McCollum wanted to keep him around if I recall. I suspect him coming back is a strong possibility, especially considering his price has certainly dropped after that year at Creighton.

He seems super unpopular in this thread. Are there some known locker room/personality issues or rumors I don’t know about? Or are y'all just mad that he left Iowa?

I'm sorry...but Keegan Murray as a sophomore and Luka Garza his last two years would have used the freshman Freeman. Garza was way too big, and skilled and would have his way down low. Keegan would just go right through him.

Please note...I think Freeman is going to be a great player. He needs to get stronger and add some weight, but you can tell he's special. Now, Freeman with 20 pounds and another year of skill development would push both Murray and Garza on both ends.
I'd like to point out that I was half right. Murray and Garza would have punished Owen as a freshman. I'd now like to adjust my post to say...they also would have punished him as a sophomore, junior, and senior.

Seems like it's widely believed that Freeman quit on the team last year, and was pretty much already out the door by (or before) year end. There were definite rumors about it.

I also seem to recall also seeing a locker room video last year where (if I remember right) the team was celebrating a win, and Freeman seemed to be very much NOT a part of the crowd. Or something like that. I suppose this part is a bit of speculation based on a video, but it wasn't a great look. Not sure if there was any other inside info, but I think it goes a little beyond simple "jilted fan syndrome".

Freeman was in the portal before McCollum was hired and I think first guy to enter off the team last year after Fran got fired. 3 guys McCollum specifically mentioned by name at his first press conference in IC were Dix, sandfort and Koch.

Poster clearly just has an axe to grind against Christians. It might even be completely fabricated as there’s nothing in this thread to indicates posters even claiming OF was religious.

I think you recall incorrectly. He was gone before Ben got to Iowa, and his team mates pretty much ignored him after he made it clear he was more interested in getting 100% healthy for the portal over playing at 90% or whatever and sticking with them on the court.

Unfortunately for Dix, he got stuck with Freeman for another year.
