I don't believe the Merrill match looks like the Merrill match if it was not the NCAA finals. Josh will wear AJ out.
I think a concussion protocol might be in order along with a brick and some blood time.
He absolutely would wear AJ out, as he did to Merrill. Barr wears everybody out. Playing contrarian, I'm just not certain that results in a bunch of points against a wrestler whose offense is little more than trying to stop the other guy from scoring. A fresh 240+ Bastida has a ton of horsepower, which is why he scored (early) and that was the only time Ferrari has been bonused. Ferrari may stall himself into a DQ against Barr, otherwise he'd likely one-knee, boundary dance, and splits his way to a regular loss.

That wuss would never make it in MMA, the WWE is also probably too physically demanding for him. But at least there his signature split may be a crowd pleaser.

If a coach throws a brick late (like for a lunger), but the ref wastes time explaining it was too late (basically grants the lunger), then does the coach get to keep his brick?

Not that I recall. Penn State wasn't his dream school. There was some interest with McKenna before he picked anOSU.
The Iowa AD said no last year when AJ at the time basically had everyone fooled he reformed at CSUB.
I don't see how she changed her mind after based on what happened in the past year. AJ managed:
1. To get kicked off/voted off another team
2. He's charged with a car related felony and had a court case/was in police custody over it
3. He continues the splits spectacle (what got him in trouble in the first place at Iowa and something he clearly views as funny) despite video evidence every single time of his coaches and teammates telling him to stop
4. He has a PR nightmare of an interview where he accuses an athlete from another school of outright cheating and had to issue an apology for it from the teams official Twitter page
He's apparently trying to bring his equally unhinged brother who doesn't need an introduction

I don't think it has been explicitly stated anywhere but IMO AJ was shown the door vs just moving on seeking more money.
When your own coach puts his head in his hands at your antics on national TV it's an indication AJ was counseled and still choose to do his own thing... Multiple times.
I really think Nebraska took the 1 year gap filter and then said good riddance.
If Iowa makes the same mistake, I can't wait.

I agree wholeheartedly with you. I believe his whole shtick wore out every last nerve the Nebraska staff had available. Manning, Snyder, Dlagnev and Green had to be regularly embarrassed by AJ's "pay attention to me, I am the clown" routine.

I'm curious how so many kids, in all sports, can go from school to school and maintain eligibility for 6/7 years without a degree.

The last time I looked into it about ten years ago the standards were ridiculously easy. The main factor then was the Academic Progression Rate (APR) which has a name that sounds good. The jist of it was that you had to accumulate enough credits that would seem normal for a student of the same academic classification (FR, SO, JR, SR) that matched to the athlete’s eligibility standing. However, if I remember correctly there was nothing in there about being on track to an actual degree, just total number of credits completed. At the time, there was a PSU basketball player that had failed half of his classes in the Fall semester, but was still academically eligible to play in the Spring semester because of the total number of credits completed. With a redshirt year not counting to their class standing, that is an entire academic year where they can stockpile credits.
I suspect that these athletes that transfer multiple times have a lot of credits that do not count towards whatever degree they are pursuing at their current school. As any student that has ever changed majors knows, they might be a SR with regards to total credits, but they might still need to complete an extra year or so to complete the courses required for their new degree.
I have no idea as to what AJ’s declared major was at Nebraska or at his previous schools. Even if was the same major at all of the schools, it is doubtful that all of the credits from the previous schools will count towards the same degree at the next school.
