I'm of the opinion now they are employees paid to do a job.
It’s really not even debatable. It’s just a matter of how much longer they can keep this charade going to prevent payroll taxes and having to fund other employee benefits.

Difference in employment and scholarship.
Exactly, pro coaches, college coaches and pro players all have to deal with contracts because they are all working in their professions so they are technically professionals. If players want to be treated as professionals then what we really need are minor leagues for other sports like they have for baseball then they can quit worrying about being students.

I think its been awhile since most high-major football and basketball players quit worrying about being students.

It isn’t just a social media idiot that is questioning the hypocrisy….

It isn't the paying of players it is the transfer. College sports were the only sports I enjoyed 5 years ago. I couldn't give two $hits about any college sport now and it hurts.

That guy is about anti trust law. If the student athletes fall under anti trust, why don't the regular students ?

The universities themselves have 4x the revenue of the athletic departments.

But there is no anti trust law violation with amateur athletes. If they don't like the rules of the ncaa, They are free to go play minor league ball or go to work at a real job. they are free to get their endowments on the open market like anyone else.
