That would be crazy. Man we may have a rough go finding someone. I’m hoping they don’t get Otzelburger or McCastland. I think they are our best bet of getting a good coach fast.
Supposed Otz has turned them down too. I'm telling y'all, NOBODY wants the heat when you can build a team anywhere.

If I can be happy working at Company X and make 7M a year (which is more than most people see ever), why on EARTH would I go to Company C or K for more money and insanely more stress? If I make the Top 8 or even the Top 4 at Company X, and can hang in or around that same level of performance and be like at Company C? There's no WAY I'm leaving.

You all know I'm not a "blame the fans" guy. But that does factor in as well. If the fan base is gonna get riled up in Season 3 or beyond that adds to their decision.

Sadly, it says we have to back up the brinx truck. We might need to pay $12-$13m and force one of these coaches to take the pay day.
And that may not be enough anymore. Lloyd supposedly took less money (than he would've been offered at UNC per se) to STAY at Zona.

The jig is up for good coaches. They're going to stay in their jobs unless truly moving up (like May to UM).

It is definitely harder to convince a coach to make the move to one of the 5 blue bloods. It takes a guy with a huge ego who wants all the attention and wants to be the king.

A guy like Pitino or Calipari. The guy that comes to mind would be Oats. I don’t know if any of the other highly desirable coaches meet the criteria. I do think Vandy’s coach would be a guy to jump at the UK opportunity even though he doesn’t seem to care about all the attention, but realizes he could kill it at UK.

There is zero evidence of this on any reputable site. There has however been a massive surge in the betting odds for Billy Donovan on certain betting sites.

Also, UNC just suspended their plans to build a new billion dollar arena until after a new coach has been hired. They are planning to throw a lot of money at their top coaching candidates, and the NIL for their first team.
I hear that UNC has a hard on for Scott Drew. You heard that right and there’s mutual interest.

The recipe you’re talking about is the recipe to destroy college basketball. There are about eight to 10 programs that carry college basketball. That’s it Michigan is not one of them. Vanderbilt’s not one of them Arizona is not one of them and they’re not gonna become one of them and these coaches will find out real fast and it will all circle back around to where the resources the fan base the college fan base I mean, you take Kentucky of the equation and automatically the viewing for the NCAA tournament drops by about five 6 million people.

Whatever’s happening to college basketball all of these coaches who are refusing to Carolina or Kentucky. Someone needs to have a talk with these guys.. I mean and no world should you turn down North Carolina job for Vanderbilt it’s just sheer stupidity and will cause the bottom to fall out of college basketball. The thing that’s made college basketball great is that it’s been kind of an offset to football. programs Like Kentucky. All these programs like a Kentucky Duke, North Carolina a UConn all crappy in football. Basketball is Whats brought balance to the schools so you’re gonna see the Blue Bloods begin to fail getting knocked out early in the tournament ratings will struggle. ESPN’s highest ratings for college basketball like on a regular basis came the season we were going for 40-0. That team had all of Kentucky and all of college basketball fans watching even if they were pulling against us.

I mean, UConn has their guy and that dude‘s going nowhere. They lucked out .Meanwhile, the teams that have made basketball college basketball relevant coaches won’t go to those schools and like I say somebody needs to have a talk with these coaches when a guy turns down Carolina from Michigan and Carolina has been turned down over and over that’s very bad for college basketball. You know these upstart schools like an Iowa State or Kansas State whatever you name Midwest special where they go out there and have flash in the pan season their fans don’t care. Carolina Kentucky heck even North Carolina state losing out to LSU with Will Wade..

I don’t know I think when you pull Kentucky in Carolina out of the mix, you don’t have much of college basketball left. It doesn’t really mean much anymore. I mean, you could make an argument that Duke has seriously under achieved as well with a 2nd rate coach. The guy can recruit I mean there was a rat coaching that dude that was recruiting so anybody can recruit to Duke Nike’s paying these guys to go to Duke. They’ve been doing it before NIL.

Bottom line is this college basketball isn’t gonna get fixed until they fix this problem of coaches not wanting to go to major programs. A bunch of lazy, weak men who are afraid of a challenge.. I mean when you’re in a profession, you want to be the best in that profession, especially if the profession is all about competition. Nate oats that’s meaningless signing an extension he can still be hired.

I mean, it’s almost like every schools trying to land a coach they they’re gonna have for a generation the way that they’re acting. in my opinion if Kentucky wants to keep up with what’s going on and get us back into the final four back into some title games basically you know kind of take UConn’s spot. We’re gonna have to do something really creative and it’s gonna start with and I know people sick of hearing it but you hire pitino man for four or five years. And during those four or five years, you get the NIL straightened out, Pitino build a program and has groomed someone ready to take it over and then Patino moves over into an advisory role or moves into like associate head coach.

This guy has been here the entire time he’s the greatest coach of all time. he has said over and over his biggest mistake in life was leaving university of Kentucky. We made no play for him in 2007 of course idiot Mitch. But now will be the right time to bring him in and task him with getting the program back on back on track. Pretty stupid that the all time greatest coach is out there and we had him for a while. He came back and wanted to be at UK so bad he settled for the uL job. This man who made a terrible decision all time greatest and Barney didn’t sniff him. This is probably the last chance for him and is pre-clear we’re not gonna make a move on this guy ever after he gave us maybe the greatest decade in 50 years and won big at the city school in Louisville. I think Pitino has five years left in of coaching. This man could’ve been at Kentucky 20 years if we’ve hired them back in 2007 I miss the most common sense move that could’ve ever been made and now hiring and back is the most common sense move that we could ever make because he gets a program back and groom a successor.

I feel responsible for getting Mitch Barnhart fired. I mean I’ve been all over him for 15 years. I think he should’ve left 15 years ago or about into a seventh year when most athletic directors move on to something else, but that man he ruined our basketball program and the only person I see that’s out there that can save it is pitino. If if we don’t bring Pitino into the fold at some point. I think our program is finished.. everywhere he goes he wins and the thing is is he’s always wanted to be at Kentucky. That’s all he’s ever wanted. He had it. He lost it in. Our Fan base is partially to blame, but I put it on Barney for building this rabid nature towards Rick. It never made sense to me why our fan base I mean, I can understand the fandom of it and getting up for those games. I’ve never understood the fans of our program who stood in the way of bringing Pitino back to Lexington those those people fans, big blue nation fans they couldn’t see pass what was coming out of Barney’s mouth to hate Pitino. The man owns so many businesses in Kentucky I mean, I know a guy that’s in business with them and if we offered the job to pitino, he would take it in a heartbeat and there’s nothing that he has done to preclude him from me from taking the job. I mean Louisville is a city school that means the hood and all of that he did a heck of a job over there. I hate Louisville, but I can recognize that Pitino is a wizard.

Mitch Barnhart ruined uk basketball. The worst stretch of basketball in all of our lifetime of occurred with Mitch Barnhardt as the athletic Director I mean like I’ve sat over and over just to like imagine it quarter century quarter century this guy we have one title and a quarter century, we had a seven year stretch of good basketball. And here I can’t say what I think of Mitch Barnhardt I mean, I’ll get banned. I’m gonna sue school in the state of Kentucky if that golden parachute isn’t dealt with in the proper way. Honestly, I’d like to see big blue nation rise up and run Mitch Barnhart out Lexington make it so uncomfortable for this guy in his family. These gotta leave. And I’m not saying hurt the man or anything like that. I’m just saying don’t be nice to him. Let him know what you think about him. There’s no law against that. Just don’t cuss him. I think big blue nation needs to get up off its butt and do what it’s always done to keep this basketball program as the standard for all of college basketball and Mitch Barnhardt needs to be made an example of. Like Eddie Sutton was you ruined the program and you’re gonna be humiliated beyond belief. I mean the rooferee guy you know a couple bad calls and a couple different games. Mitch Barnhart took advantage of the state of Kentucky used it to make himself rich and to make himself a freaking job where he could squat worse than cow and we let them do it. I remember arguing with people on wildcat Lair football forum and they were so like adamant that the guy was a good A.D. because he made money. I mean a blind chimp right now could make money based osmosis alone. And you know what what do we do after that guy made some terrible calls in the UNCheat game and ours fans, go for his job. This clown Barnhardt makes himself rich in our fans treat them like some kind of golden calf. It’s also backwards. This is a job that everybody should’ve gone after I’m telling you it’s been like over 15 years ago. This guy should’ve been gone, but he was left in place to do 15 years of damage hiring firing contracts you name it may be the longest post I ever made but it’s because I’m going nowhere, but that name, Barnhardt family complex that stuff’s coming off in Barnhart. That clowns getting run out of Kentucky. Let’s unite big blue nation, and let’s run this charlatan out of our state. With pope close behind him. And when people start crying and saying, who’s gonna be the coach, who’s gonna be the coach?? Wah wah wah. If we if we hire an intelligent athletic Director, we won’t have to worry about who coaches because his name is Rick Pitino, and that guy would love to finish his career out at Kentucky and maybe go into an assistant A.D. role or go into an associate coaches role, but the man, I mean the first time he had us in the final four 4 years. I think he could have us in the final four in his first or second year. And look man pitino may turn 80 and still have it you never know maybe we can get 10 years from this guy.

TIME TO BRING PITINO BACK. If this is what college basketball’s gonna become give us 3 to 5 years with Rick, hell you never know it might be 10 years.

No, it’s not forcing anybody to do anything. It’s a free country man. But putting a little pressure letting guys know the history of the game the history of college basketball I bet 3/4 these coaches they’re so relying on statistics that they don’t know the history of the game not the history of the college game. I mean, they may know some names but they’re kind of like the players. I don’t know what’s insane about you know educating like I’ve said for Kentucky to go in and get their guy they need to bring in pat Riley to the hiring committee that will educate them. I bet most of these coaches don’t even know pat Riley played at Kentucky.

It’s up to Kentucky to make that argument. It doesn’t hurt for the NCAA to go to ESPN and say hey tune down the stuff when it comes to Kentucky or North Carolina hiring coach. Or just based on decency alone, but these schools hire without the Talking Heads saying was this job problems with this job the problems with that job.. there ain’t nobody talking about Michigan or LSU or Arkansas, Arkansas or Alabama. No one says boo about those being a bad school to coach at because those schools have zero expectations so those coaches can just sit there forever.

No, Kentucky’s gonna have to go where no school has gone and show how much history how important that history is to the fan base and the only way you’re gonna do that, is Pay historically big money. And you’re gonna have to give up a level of control or at least put it in the contract that after four years, we’re gonna upgrade this we’re going to invest into nil more than. Anyone else. I mean, we can’t sit around and continue to do what we’re doing when you look at the state of College basketball right now you need to have your coach in place like 3-4 years ago.
