The U Conn fans were basically doing this directly in the faces of Illini fans:
Iowa fans were just celebrating in the incident you brought up. No direct interaction with Minnesota fans.

I don't think any of it is classless. I think it's fans having a good time. But the UConn example above is so mid compared to thousands of other examples is is hilarious that this video some how shows UConn fans as classless.
Most of the incidents you are bringing up are indeed going too far, I agree.
I'm not a fan of in your face mockery directly aimed at rival fans. Nor intentional disrespect of your opponent and/or opposing fans, and thinking that's a form of "celebration."
The 2002 Metrodome goalpost incident was not that, and therefore was different, and not as bad. IMHO.

He's the grandson of a cop. His father, Bob Hurley Sr., was a legendary head coach in Jersey City.

I knew he was a legendary coach, Miracle of St Anthony’s one of the best sports books ever written. I just had thought he was a cop but it’s been awhile since I read it. My bad!
