I can’t think of a single coach past or present who matches Hurley’s douche-E-ness. Bo Ryan was a prick, Bob Knight was an @zzhole, Steve Alford was a smug pissant, and of course Tom Izzo is a whiny little b*tch.

But Danny Hurley makes all of them look like amateurs in the way of being unlikable.

Hurley sure wins a lot. He is to coaching what his brother was to being a player.

I hate illannoy more than anyone, but the UCONN fans are pure trash and evil for doing that. They're lucky some embittered illinwek didn't break some bones on those punks.

I don't think any of it is classless. I think it's fans having a good time. But the UConn example above is so mid compared to thousands of other examples is is hilarious that this video some how shows UConn fans as classless.

Most of the incidents you are bringing up are indeed going too far, I agree.

I'm not a fan of in your face mockery directly aimed at rival fans. Nor intentional disrespect of your opponent and/or opposing fans, and thinking that's a form of "celebration."

The 2002 Metrodome goalpost incident was not that, and therefore was different, and not as bad. IMHO.

I’m admirer of how Hurley coaches basketball. Yes I am. Does he seem like a douche? Sure. But guess what? We really don’t know what most coaches are really like. I know when I watch a UConn game they’re going to be tough and well coached. He’s the son of a cop and a self made family.

I knew he was a legendary coach, Miracle of St Anthony’s one of the best sports books ever written. I just had thought he was a cop but it’s been awhile since I read it. My bad!
