Has anyone considered that preacher_dawg is a troll? No one just decides to become a Penn State fan. You make the mistake of attending Penn State and then become a fan by default, all the while wishing that you had made a better choice.

Preacher Dawg may soon realize that our roads in PA suck. Road surfaces are rough and full of potholes. When driving in from other states he will notice the roads go from developed world to 3rd world with a sign that says welcome to PA and the next sign tells him the “left lane ends.” He will notice plenty of “construction work zones” with nobody actually working on anything. He will pray long and hard on the matter, but Penndot will never improve and our roads will continue to suck. We have all tried, even walking into the desert to meditate and pray on the subject. It’s no use.
If he's from Mississippi, I'm sure he's aware of what yazoo clay does to the roads there.

Not that it's a big deal to defend myself, but I am a pretty regular poster on sixpackspeak, the Mississippi State message board that goes back several years.

Lykens is certainly “out there” but I grew up a little east of there along the blue ridge mountains. It’s breathtakingly beautiful IMO. Lots of opportunities for hiking adventures, camping, and exploring. As I look back now, it was the perfect place to grow up - I thinj it’ll be a good experience for your boys. The good news is that you’re not TOO far away from Allentown or Harrisburg if you need a bit more civilization.

Take the boys up to Jim Thorpe one weekend in summer to raft down the Lehigh River. There’s also Paintball. And train rides in fall, although you’ll be surrounded by New Yorkers.

FWIW: I recently spent a few years working in Hattiesburg. I really enjoyed the people of MS. Good, welcoming folks. Great food. I’m betraying my PA roots here, but I don’t love our food outside of what you can find in the larger cities.
