I hate to be a Debbie Downer but last season almost all of these great ACC players travelled OOC, very few stayed in ACC.
Left ACC:
- #1 Latson from FSU to UofSC (#2 vote recipient for All-ACC)
- #2 Miles from ND to TCU (#3 vote recipient for All-ACC)
- #10 Carnegie from GT to UGA (All-freshman team, 6th player of the year)
- #11 Okananwa from dook to MD (2nd in votes for 6th player of the year)
- #12 Morgan from GT to KY (All-ACC 2nd team)
- #15 Koval from ND to to LSU (All-freshman team)
- #17 Dunn from GT to USC
- #19 Lattimore from UVA to Miss
- #22 Saurez from Cal to TCU
Joined ACC:
- #9 Smith from LSU to UVA
- #13 Kyle from UofF to Miami
- #16 Moore from Vandy to ND (3rd best player on Vandy)
- #25 Ziegler from St Joe's to Ville (mid-major)
Nyla Harris was the highest ranked player to move from one ACC team to another; she was in the #25-35 category on this list. The point here is that the vast majority of ACC talent chased money. presumably at a level that other ACC teams could not offer.
The vast majority of ACC additions were either not full starters on P4 teams (like Aaarnisalo) or more likely they came from mid-majors.
Ta'Niya Latson tops the transfer rankings, while UConn-bound Serah Williams moves up a couple spots in the top 10.

Note that the only All-ACC players out of 25 who returned were Hidalgo (POY), Fournier (1st team), Johnson (1st team, but now in portal), Brooks (1st team). Kelly (2nd team currently injured), Tajianna Roberts (2nd team), Agara (2nd team, but now in portal). Everyone else either graduated or entered the portal.
For the ACC to gain relevancy again we need to reverse this trend.
Here is who "won" the portal last year. (LOL at SMU, they lost Robertson so this made no sense even then)
Whether remaking rosters or filling needs, Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Carolina and LSU won the transfer portal.
