Where do Jayden James, Asher Cunningham and William Henckel wrestle?
Probably U20 -- James at 70 kg or more likely 74 kg; Henckel maybe 74 but more likely 79; Cunningham 86 if he competes.

James and Henckel are both eligible for Senior trials, but with it being the same weekend, guessing they'll go U20.

James is also eligible for U17, but again same weekend.

Chase Karenbauer - U17 55 kg

It's way early. U20 is overwhelmingly HS registrants so far -- I don't think I saw any college entrants at all.

I don't believe Henckel is U20 eligible anymore.
I don't remember how they cut off -- is it by calendar year or by birth date?

Henckel turns 21 in late October. U20 Worlds is in August, so he'll still be 20 then.

I had researched Jayden's eligibility before, and I don't think he is U17 eligible anymore.

I’m pretty sure it’s calendar year so Henckel wouldn’t be eligible

Levi already has a spot in Final X so seems unlikely he will be there.

How the U17 Pan Ams are going:
USA guy in every weight category into semis. Round robin results - all matches possible won so far. At 65kg Chacon has lost his semi and is in the bronze match. At 80kg Schulte has won his semi and is in the finals.

State College boy Evan Restivo is representing 51kg.

3:15 pm USA guys in every final but 65kg. Evan won his semi with an off-the-whistle takedown, 3 quick rolls and one more roll.

6:41 pm Evan Restivo (and 45kg, 48 kg) gold. He did it with pace and conditioning.

8:14 pm Finals complete. USA 8 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze. Nice work, young men.

I decided to post this here rather than where I had posted it on the Social Media thread.

A blast from the past: Mitchell and Levi meet in the 2022 best-of-three U20 World Team Trials final.

This was Mitchell’s coming out party. He opened a bunch of eyes with his US open title and win over Paniro but making the U20 team and beating Levi put the wrestling world on notice. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a kid make a bigger jump in levels than MM did during that 2022 summer.

Anyone from this message board going out to watch? I’m pretty sure I’ll be there at least one day for the Sr level competition. I’ll be sure to wear a Penn State shirt.

U17 Pan Am Greco report: (did not watch, just checked results - too nice a day)

All the freestyle guys are doing double duty, so Evan Restivo is also wrestling Greco.

All USA men but 55kg into finals.

92kg is an interesting situation Tsarni (USA guy) has one more round to go in a round robin of 5, having 3 VP (Victory Points). His opponent from Mexico has wrestled all his rounds and also has 3 VP. The tiebreaker is competition points, and if Tsarni gets even 1 point in the match those are tied. The next tiebreaker is the types of ways the competition points are earned - fall, tech fall, etc. Those are tied too! Tsarni can avoid any complications by just winning.

110 is also interesting - also a round robin of 5, the top two wrestlers have 3 VP each and they are wrestling each other, so the winner will win the gold.

8:48 pm
The results are 7 gold, 2 silver and a bronze. 92kg and 110 kg both won their last round. At 55kg Jeremy Carver fought back, down 7-0, winning 15-7.
