Something worth noting, he worked for Lester at Western Michigan. That section of his bio is poorly written and somewhat vague on his position as it is kind of a run on sentence combining multiple schools he worked at,, but the way I read it is he was Lester's QB coach.
This had been in the works for awhile. Frees Lester up to have oversight of the entire offense and focus on play calling and game planning.
Worked for the NY Jets the last 5 years.............. oooh boy.

You Guys are seeing the trees but not the Forest behind, Lester has His QB Coach from Western Michigan now in Iowa City , In the Military it is called staging assets , Kirk has maybe a couple years left , When He goes Lester is the most obvious Guy who already had HC experience and time in the Program to take over and then Vandermerkt takes over the Offense . Wallace becomes DC and the Culture and structure Kirk has built stays intact and Iowa football does not miss a beat .

Hiring where there has been a previous relationship is considered nepotism. It's not limited to family. So, nepotism can be found on basically every football staff in America.
Technically though, the definition might refer to previous relationships not related to job qualifications.

Norvell is 63 yrs old and Lester 49. Minus Michigan fiasco with Whittinngham don’t see too often coaches that old hired that aren’t uber successful before at P4 under normal circumstances.

It don't matter in a year to year free agency world. People were saying Phil Parker, well guess what age he is. Jay is one of the most fit 63 year olds you will ever see.
When Ferentz steps down it better be a national search. Lester has done nothing to be given the job. And no on Norvell, his HC resume isn’t good.
