God bless the young man.
@Hlstone has Big Ten story with him.... He seems like a good guy.
Thanks for reminding me Paul.
We were checking out the hotel and I look behind us and see Ben. I introduced myself and asked how his hip was doing. He replied that it was great, but the rest of his body was banged up. Then I wished him luck. Such a rookie mistake on my part, still kicking myself. His next match was against Cole. I am the sole reason Ben won against our favorite 285.
Sorry gang.

So I’m literally the only person you’ve sent to a bar that wasn’t open? You couldn’t have offered Ben drinks on Monday at Happy Valley Brewing Company? Thanks for reminding me Paul.

I had somewhat of a similar experience, I had open heart surgery in 2012 to repair my mitral valve and a single CABG via full sternotomy. Once my chest was open and they started the procedure, my surgeon discovered my aortic valve had developed stenosis, so he did that valve as well. It was like minutes for me, but I know my wife had to be shaken. Luckily, my son, who is an anesthesiologist was also there and able to explain step by step what was happening. My surgeon at Cleveland Clinic is among the best "valve guys" in the world and was able to put everything right. On the flip side, one of my high school buddies went in for elbow surgery when he was 22, had an adverse reaction to anesthesia and passed away. Anything can happen in the OR.I want to start this off by saying how glad I am that Ben has had a successful surgery and is on the road to a complete (better then new!) recovery. I've been involved in and following the sport for the past 60 years and learned long ago that your opponent is not your ENEMY, but rather a fellow competitor. Knowing the struggles that all who compete endure, should and usually does, create empathy.
Due to issues with my heart my cardiologist recommended going in for a fairly common procedure that normally takes about 1 1/2 hours.
When I woke up my wife was sitting next to the bed with her hand on my arm and looking completely drained. Turns out that I was in the operating room for 8 1/2 hours and I soon realized that those who care so much about you suffer horribly with the not knowing how it will end.
Funny part is that it was only minutes to me from the time that they started the anesthesia.
So you don't know what happened but lead with his mom is dramatic. Do you know Tina? It's an understatement to say his mom is a bit dramatic, so I don't know how perilous of a condition he really was in, but regardless, I'm glad that nothing serious happened and he seems to be doing well and on the road to full recovery.

I know what I've seen. I certainly wish Ben all the best in whatever happened. So you don't know what happened but lead with his mom is dramatic. Do you know Tina?
I said he seemed like a nice guy, why would we send him to a closed bar?So I’m literally the only person you’ve sent to a bar that wasn’t open? You couldn’t have offered Ben drinks on Monday at Happy Valley Brewing Company?
I just assumed he had joined the circle of friends and if you don't mess with your best friends, who are you supposed to mess with.I said he seemed like a nice guy, why would we send him to a closed bar?

That is one way to look at it.....I just assumed he had joined the circle of friends and if you don't mess with your best friends, who are you supposed to mess with.
One possibility why they needed more time is that somebody checked the box for penis enlargement surgery when you weren’t looking.I .. going in for a fairly common procedure that normally takes about 1 1/2 hours.
