It uses the official scoring feed...so whoever is at bat had their height officially recorded before the season, and that height is used to determine the strike zone when a call is challenged.
Interesting. I wonder though how it accounts for a player like George Brett or Pete Rose who crouched in their batting stance.

On a side rant - can we just stop game-in-progress interviews? With players, managers, coaches, anyone. Just stop it.

No one wants to hear what Burt Bulimia has to say near the end of the 1st quarter vs. Northwestern. No one wants to even know what he's thinking.

Show the friggin' games. Show the ballpark or stadium. Show anything but an endless stream of no talent bimbos or tight suit wearing shrills trying to add to my experience when I just want to watch a game that they, themselves are interrupting.

It doesn't. Every player will have the same zone adjusted for their height that takes into account an "average" stance.

The one spot I enjoy it...the PGA "walk and talks".

Thank you. Good to know it’s not just me.

I played golf for money at one time. Not very well obviously. I wouldn't have cared for it at all. I'd be in a cocoon if I was planning on just getting my entry fee back. Anyone disturbing that, I wouldn't like at all

Everyone's different and times are much different. If you have the confidence and the abilities those guys have today, I get it.

It's easy to interview a guy on the walk that is -17 though. Don't interview the guy on Friday who needs to birdie 2 of the last 3 to make the cut. That would be a better interview, but would also interfere in the whole process.

Huh. Okay, the players are aware of it, they’re professionals, they’ll adjust.

As for the ABS, bring it on. The more the better.

Someone get on one of those DNA family sites and find this family tree. There's another Eddie out there. I know there is.

I wish there was another Bill Veeck out there. Baseball would be more fun.

But I have inordinately long tibias for my height … 😣

Bill Veeck told Eddie Gaedel that he had a sniper stationed in the bleachers of Sportsman's Park with orders to shoot to kill if Gaedel swung his bat.
