No offense to any salesmen on here as being a good one is clearly a gift, but I think I would jump off a roof if I had to be one. I even sucked at selling peanut brittle for my little league team
My wife was (she "retired" to stay home with the kids last year) in tech sales. I have a PhD and a fancy upper management - important sounding - title at a Megacorp, her income exceeded mine a decade ago without any education (she now has a BA). It's certainly a valuable skill; one I absolutely do not have. However bad you were at peanut brittle sales, I'm worse.

Did you guys know Chael is running for Governor of Oregon in 2030? I didn't. Anyway, I enjoy all of Michael Franceses interviews. He had Chael on his latest podcast...

i've been curious recently about how many high level wrestlers are first generation or don't have older siblings in the sport. this is mostly a selfish thought, because my son is the oldest and no one in our family has wrestled before. it seems like a lot of the kids on the top of podiums at the youth level have coach dads or older siblings they can learn from. it definitely makes sense when they're just starting, but i'm wondering if that ever sort of evens itself out as they get older. any thoughts?

Those were some lean times. Doc was a great athlete from Governor Mifflin, same school as Jan Johnson and Nick Singleton. He's been an assistant coach for football and wrestling at Mifflin for a long time and finally took over as the head wrestling coach this year. Think his brothers are both in the Ursinus football hall of fame.

This tweet got me thinking about doing more with less.

Last year, when PSU set the points record, they did it with 10 AA's winning the most matches in a tournament in NCAA history with 49 victories.

This year they broke their points record with 2 fewer AA's and 8 fewer victories. Pretty amazing economy.

Anecdotally, I don't really know any "high level" wrestlers who are first generation. Wrestling still is a bit of a fringe sport at the youth level and it's still often hard to even find out how to get involved. Unlike I've seen in baseball, soccer, etc. I don't know any families who are traveling a bunch for youth wrestling tournaments who are new to the sport. Also, while there are certainly those guys who are just elite athletes who first try wrestling in high school, the overwhelming majority of collegiate wrestlers have a room full of medals from youth tournaments. YMMV.

The old, "I was just kidding", excuse from AJ.
Just to be clear of AJ'S intent. Without the exact quote what he said very specifically about Younger is;
Look at him, all covered in acne and stuff. When we were the same size at 197 and I beat him his skin was all clear. Now that he is all muscle and twice as large as me, his skin is all covered in acne.

But, yeah. Sure he wasn't talking shiit on Younger.
AJ simply put is a liar
