I didn't say anything about fans. I said donors and RECRUITS. And the reason we need someone with a name to rally donors is the administration has been loathe to allow the HWC to operate the way it truly needs to with regards to donations.
Iowa could make a home run hire and still go 5+ years without sniffing a title. They should take one for the team and throw a bag at Casey Cunningham. Sure, he isn't the best candidate, but losing him would slow down PSU's momentum (especially if he brings some guys with him). Until that momentum slows, it is going to be tough for anyone to catch up.

He’s been very gracious with RA… amazed someone from OSU admin hasn’t reigned that guy in. Just ask relevant questions and then small talk afterwards if anybody wants to. It’s certainly not just DT that Robert Allen throws off.

I am so proud to have David Taylor as my head coach. He carries himself with composer and grace to a fault. I’ve never seen him mad mat-side, even in situations in which I would expect to be so and, honestly, want him to be at least a little mad. Sometime kids need a little kick in the butt.

My previous coaches were Tommy Chesbro, Joe Seay and John Smith. All three had very similar mat-side demeanors; Mostly calm, vocal when necessary and hot when appropriate; e.g. Chesbro/Seay vs. Stan Abel, Smith vs. T&T Brands or Sammie Henson.

Coach Taylor carries on a tradition of great coaches who present themselves mat-side with pride, strength and restraint. With a little luck (some exercise, good diet and a little modern medicine) I hope to see what the next 20 years brings for OSU with him at the helm.

Once again, Thanks Coach Taylor

Since DT took over Oklahoma State, they've won 5 individual titles. This is who they had to beat to win those titles in the semis and finals:
  • Levi Haines and Keegan O'Toole
  • Greg Kerkvliet and Gable Steveson
  • Aaron Siedel and Ben Davino
  • Brock Hardy and Jesse Mendez
  • PJ Duke and Antrell Taylor
6 of the 10 are national champions. And would it shock anyone if Duke, Davino, and Seidel joined them? Winning against this level of competition is an art which DT already is master of!

5 guys get their hands raised on Saturday night in 2 years. Not counting repeaters the last 5 for OSU were AJ (21) Dean (16, 17) Alex (14, 15, 16) Perry (13, 14) and JO (11, 13). Now 3 of those years there were multiple champs. When you write it down and look at it it’s kind of startling the lack of production for the last 15 years. Were there really that many recruiting misses? I also recognize that all but about 5 schools would consider that run incredible.

I wouldn't say its all about recruiting misses (although there has been some) because we have had some big time recruits in that period that just couldn't get it done i.e. Plott, Fix. And we had some guys who were plagued with injuries Brock, Wittlake. I also think JS style of coaching wasn't adaptive and probably overtrained going up to Nationals.
