I'll lead the way:

Thanks! If you are interested, you list Luke's weight in the first paragraph as 174, and further down the article under Point #1, the team winning margin should be 50.5 points, not 49.5. Thanks again for all your work this season.

Because if you don't, you'll end up with a venison summer sausage, some jerky and invitation to a BBQ. People like Ken are the nicest people on the planet earth and would do anything for you.
Yeah, rode the elevator with them Saturday morning last year in Philly before the medal rounds. Certainly great people, particularly after what must have been a tough Friday.

I was amazed at how much larger McEnelly looked than Rocco. I swear some wrestlers must have less dense bones or something. I always felt the same way when I would watch Zahid and Mark Hall wrestle. It would be interesting to know if the difference is in how much weight a wrestler is cutting and/or bone density differences or similar physiological differences among the wrestlers.
I saw what you saw and it translates to our other wrestlers. They just look smaller.

I wonder if it has to do with the PSU singlets. Do they slim or create an optical sense that our guys are not that big.

Sure did look like an Illegal Headlock given his forearm going straight across Mess' windpipe - "Side Headlock" or not. Not sure how that didn't earn an Illegal Hold call - didn't even draw a "Potentially Dangerous" which is ridiculous.
It did earn an elite asss kicking that was so effective poor boy was still butt hurt while standing on the podium.

Summary:
  • A 3rd straight points record, 5th straight title, 13th title in 15 championships, 4 individual titles and 8 top4 finishes needs to be enjoyed and appreciated!!!
  • I’ve grown so spoiled by almost every PSU top seed winning it all for 15 years that I don’t know how to react when it doesn’t happen.
  • Based on what Gable, Smith, Brands and Cael were able to do when they became HCs, I’m of course concerned about the future challenge Okie St is bringing with a young (enough) DT at the helm. Especially with what DT has already done.
  • Cael says live in the present; Re-read 1st bullet point.
  • The PSU hate at nationals will prob keep me from going again unless I’m able to score a ticket in a PSU section. Saturday night in particular was out of control with real hatred. (The other sessions weren’t as bad.)
  • Friday at NCAAs is the best. I almost think I would enjoy going for just Thursday and Friday more, assuming I could get home in time to not miss anything on Saturday.

Final Thoughts:

Caliendo and Cannon will be filing PFAs against Mesenbrink and Duke on Monday morning.

How in the world did that kid from Princeton make the finals, awful, awful style of wrestling. NCAA should ban him.

The review that overturned Duke's takedown is the worst call I can remember going against a PSU wrestler, ever.

Several of the finals matches were almost unwatchable due to inactivity, backing up and playing the edge. I am coming around to the idea of a step out rule.

Random question but does anyone know where you can look up how many team points each wrestler scored overall? Trying to find online for fantasy purposes

Guys definitely look bigger in white or pale colors

Regarding the PSU hate, my thoughts are that societal hatred in general, with attendant verbal abuse, has grown exponentially worse in the last decade or so. It is a very concerning trend.

One final thought regarding the call reversal in PJ's semi. I would love to see a rule change that in SV, once the referee believes a TD has been achieved, they should hold up three fingers and hold it (just like they do with NF) until the position plays itself out. Then award the points and let any challenges occur at that point.

The Hatred had a lot to do with the location of the Venue. There will be probably some hatred next year in St Louis but Missouri fans are not going to be anything like that Ohio State hate toward us. Oklahoma State might have a few more fans there, but in general the further out from Ohio and Iowa, its not the same

I just posted almost the identical thought on another thread.

So I just turned on Tennessee v uva basketball, and literally the first thing that happens is a video review with a bizarre outcome. Just ****** kill me now. I’m done.

I'm a baseball purist and hated when they instituted the pitch clock because I thought it would ruin the game. After three seasons with it I don't even notice it, most people feel like it's a good thing at this point. I'm starting to think a push out rule in college wrestling will be the same. Keep these guys in the middle of the mat and we'll see a better sport across the board.

100%. It will make the product better and even the purists will see that in short order. I really hope this happens

The pitch clock isn’t horrible as it deflects against the statistical abomination that baseball has become by precluding them from navel gazing for hours over every single pitch.

Actually, it’ll just incent guys to push guys to the edge of the mat.

the problem is passivity, not the location of the wrestling per se.

If it’s 0-0, someone is getting hit with a stall in the first 1 minute. Automatic 1 point.

No more of this warning BS. The refs have already implored the wrestlers to engage.

if you run? Just like FS, you get hit, they stop the match and you go back to center. Run again? Hit again.

it’s simple stuff, but somehow the refs get away with choosing what rules they enforce. There is stalling in the rule book. And it doesn’t say it can only be called in the 3rd period AFTER you’ve verbally warned them 14 times.
I’ll add to this by stealing the “good” from FS:
1. Have stalling tied to holding center, meaning retreating to the edge is an automatic call
2. Implement a shot clock if no action after 1:30 in the 1st
3. Eliminated OT and implement criteria

I’ve been hesitant to say it, but I am wondering if there is a scenario that sees Rocco back at 174 and Connor at 184. Like you, I think Rocco looks small for 184. I dont know which is the bettter lineup: Henckel-Rocco or Rocco-Connor.
I remember seeing Rocco at 74 and thinking he looked huge. But I agree he looks on the smaller side of 184 to me. I’d be curious if he could make 74 but my guess is he stays where he is. He isn’t getting out muscled, appears to have a really good tank and wrestled really well this year. 184 was good to him this year IMO.
