So now we're blaming Jan for playing Deal too much? Half the board was constantly complaining that she doesn't get enough minutes for the first 3 months of the season. Tough to please people.

The goal is to win games and Deal wasn't ready for a lot of minutes. She still isn't. She needs to improve. Period. Some of that is on Jan and the staff. Most of that is on Deal herself who is still a freshman learning how to play big time basketball.
Everything is Jan’s fault. No matter what. Where have you been. I can’t remember if she fouled at the end of the qtr yesterday.
Except for the winning. Somebody else is responsible for that.
They have to shoot the rock! Must show something to open up inside game. My problem yesterday is that all four Iowa guards looked like they were afraid to shoot and miss, can’t play like that!

When Kylie is taking more shots than Stremlow and only 2 less than CCW it's a problem for Iowa. The opponent knows this. Iowa can take the bait or not.
Again, over generalizing. I doubt anybody here "hate " Hannah. I certainly don't. Shes a solid defender, and rebounder obviously. Its just as obvious that shes a liability in late game free throw situations. (heck any free throw situations, because they ALL count at the end of the game), and she often holds the ball at the free throw line, stopping movement because she can't consistently shoot a mid range jumper. Those are just plain facts after 4 years of play. Its not hate. I don't "hate" Kylie either. Still its obvious after 5 years that's she's more likely to miss almost any shot she takes, and to turn the ball over as both a passer or driver then to have a successful outcome. Pretty hard to argue someones stats after 4-5 years in college
She really didn't have many options considering no one was playing well. Even Strem didn't seem to have that fire you usually see from her..
FDU's bench played 60 minutes; Iowa's played 24 minutes. In that kinda heat, the starters should have been rotated to the bench for some extra blows. Ava didn't look effected much, but CC, Taylor, and Kylie sure looked dead.
So I agree with this. I'd also rather see Journey who only played 9 minutes yesterday at the 3 than Deal at times like this.
I just think her mindset as a player who played against major comp in high school is to try to make things happen. Unfortunately in a number of these game our backcourt has not played well, (the last two games, and the west coast games) and I think Deal is trying to do too much and not letting things come to her. Go back and watch the 1stQ. She came in and had two really nice post feeds, and a nice drive and score at the rim. We were up by 10+ at that point. Then when she came back in we were struggling, and I think she was trying to push the issue to lead the backcourt, and to make something happen.

She’s great on effort, like when she runs the floor and rebounds. But her shooting is a big hindrance.

Probably, but I don't think too much or too little minutes has anything to do with how she's played or developed this year. She just needs to grow into a better more consistent player.

She can’t shoot, can only finish going over her left shoulder with a right handed drive into the lane. Do you watch the games? And Ava is getting trapped constantly in the post. She literally needs a four that can hit a wide open ten foot jumper. You could average 20 a game just hitting that shot when the defense collapses on Ava. I’m not hating on Hannah but let’s call it like it is.
I would rather see Journey at the 3 vs Deal today. I've been nothing but consistent all year in terms of my position on which players I think should see the floor. With respect to the guards I've been pushing Stremlow all year over Deal.
