Iowa played terrible. But that also was not a bad team they played who had a good game plan. Hitting lots of 3s is how small schools usually pull off the upset. Wouldn’t be shocked to see their coach jump to D1. I believe PSU fired their coach. Once the portal opens I’d be curious to see if any FDU players enter.
Might be a little something to that.
Started year 8-4 with double digit losses to Purdue, Rutgers, Notre Dame and Binghamton. And then won 22 in a row, just clobbering almost everyone

This is the second inept game in a row. A descent D1 team would have blown Iowa out. They were not prepared and could not get out of their own way, turnovers, poor passing, mental lapses, poor in game coaching, etc. Right now, I fully expect them to lose in the second round Monday. Hope I am wrong!
They can look great and they can look like absolute dog ****. Maybe they're bipolar
Guard play was dog crap other then wright playing ok and never seen a team make so many lazy passes that end up in turnovers, Iowa looked more like an 8/9 seed than anything close to a 2
That was as aggravating of a ball game as you can watch. Just no intensity outside of maybe 10 minutes. Just lazily holding the ball, standing around, not getting into them on defense, going under screens. Really pathetic effort for a lot of the game. I expect they'll come out with a bit more intention in the next one, if not they're staying home.
with the exception of Ava the rest of plyers and coaches were terrible IMO.

I’d normally be one to say the same thing but this was almost an unprecedented, monumental, unfathomable upset, the type that NEVER happens in the sport of women’s college basketball, which has zero parity.

My take on this it’s “first tournament game jitters” several players played way to conservative. I don’t put this on JJ at all. Tournament time is win and advance. Hawks did it fortunately and personally I think we will see a much different team against Virginia on Monday.
I can look it up but it's easier just to ask here. Did Chit Chat play in a tournament game last year? If not, then nearly half of our key players were making their tournament debut today.
The offense is all Ava. Chit Chat hasn’t been consistent in a month, Furebach is out there for defense, Stulke is very up and down, and McCabe is not a major threat. Deal is a true freshman and is really struggling, Houston is a true freshman who is solid but still is a freshman. Not many options out there.
Aside from Ava it was a very ugly game. I am going to refrain from overreacting though. 2019 #2 seed Iowa beat 15 seed Mercer by 5 pts in round 1, Iowa advanced to the elite 8 in the tourney.

You do know under no circumstance is a win in the ncaa tournament equal to a loss in a big ten championship game?
