I re-watched the end of the match so that I could count up the number of attacks at the end of OT.

While thoroughly exhausted these guys attacked each other 9 times in the final 16 seconds of the match with Van Ness converting on the ninth and final attack.

In my limited experience, I have never seen anything like it. And the look on Swiderski's face as he realized Van Ness had him was heartbreaking for a neutral. Of course, I am not a neutral, so my heart is fully intact.

I have never been so blown away by the amount of action in 8:58 WITHOUT a takedown. An all-time great match. And my favorite of the tournament so far.

Now I want to hear how a low scoring match is boring.

If I wanted a game or sport where the opponents merely traded scores and you could often dispense with most of the game and just watch a small part of the end, I'd watch basketball.
Karch vs Kennedy was extremely boring. You knew it was going to happen and sure enough it did. 1-1 with riding time at zero. Who could stall the longest and win.

No praise for swiderski. He was a dog stalling the entire match!!
Not uncommon with Oklahoma State at 149 and above. Swiderski, Robideau, and Lockett are the main culprits. You watch, Robideau will do everything in his power to slow the match down.

Of course it is. The ref can say no keep
Wrestling like he did at big tens. Certain guys keep asking for that timeout. The guy was completely gassed and even the announcers were talking about it. Former wrestlers.
Not sure what match B1G you are referring to, but the rule says you only continue if the blood is insignificant AND a point-scoring action is taking place. The stoppages in this match came when there was not a scoring opportunity. People complain when it is stopped. they complain when it isn't stopped. People complain when stalling is called. People complain when it isn't called.

People are complaining because the ref was lining them up to restart and he was inspecting the mat, and asking for a cleanup, multiple times. Nobody is complaining about stopping the action for blood, it's the delaying of the restarts.

They stopped it 4 times. Cmon now. And some how they didnt even clean the blood when they were in timeout allowing more rest for him. When the announcers are saying he is exhausted etc and gets these timeouts it is a little excessive.

I agree 100%. That was a good old fashioned slug fest. Casey brought it but SVN has that ice water in his veins. He is so tough.

That OT was like a Gotti Ward fight. So fun to watch but also excruciating if you were rooting for one of them.

My favorite is when AJ got pancaked straight to his back. He didn’t pray with Yonger after that match.
What’s with his sticking cue tips all the way up his nose? To make it bleed?

I think that Bastida did the AJ "I'll stick my leg out for you, go ahead and shoot" routine right before he pancaked AJ to his back. Hilarious!
