Lol we whif on people when we have 11 players. Has any 11 players said they were gonna transfer. Moreno, Jasper, hawthorne, jelavic, williams, Chandler, garrison, MO D, Potter, lowe or noah has any said were gonna leave.
If not shut up. When a freshmen sees 11 guys, where is the playing time at. When they transfer, it's another thing.
They will but what other freshmen sees 11 potential players back and says okay.
I dont think good recruits are going to be worried about players that finished 9th place in the SEC. Now if Pope isnt telling recruits how easy it would be for them to get playing time over the endless fields of mid that could be on our team next then thats just Pope being more suck at recruiting than we already thought

It has been said on these forums over and over but I will say it again. If you can't recruit at UK and can't even get the top dawgs in the portal then you can't coach here. Throw in motivating your current players and getting them to play together and inability to put together a complete staff with a GM (if Pope wants one)...not a good start for Pope. I don't care that he played here or is a nice guy.

Anyone know what the scuttlebutt was that was posted on the pay site? Would love to hear some good news.

If he comes here: "Pope overpaid for a guy who isn't that good/can't shoot!"
If he goes elsewhere: "Pope whiffs again!"

I get your sentiment. But Pope is paid to evaluate the guys who can play well in his system. Then land them. He failed on at least one of those tasks last summer. I’m not exactly sure which. But he has to learn from it and do much better. Or next year is his last.

Lol lowe, hawthorne might be decent. Bodies are bodies. What other team has potential 11 people coming back? Very little..

It’s not the 2nd best league close to 8 or 9 as of 2025 and the site you look at they rank 4-9
1000008003.jpg

And the site i linked earlier had the Euroleague right behind the NBA.
Cayden will be back plus Rippey. Playing time might keep him away from Duke.

Not sure this guy would be better as a backup than Lowe.

25/26 Stats
3.9 assists. 1.5 turnovers
1 steal
1.7 threes attempted per game. 45%
—Note (why you might see different numbers)
• Some team-level splits (like EuroLeague-only samples) show a lower % (~24%), but that’s from small sample sizes
• The broader season sample (~45%) is a better indicator of his shooting ability right now

53% 2 point%

Quinn Ellis vs Jaland Lowe (2025–26)
• Points: Ellis ~7.8 | Lowe ~8.0
• Rebounds: Ellis ~4.3 | Lowe ~2.1
• Assists: Ellis ~3.9 | Lowe ~2.4
• Turnovers: Ellis ~1.5 | Lowe ~0.9
• FG%: Ellis ~50% | Lowe ~36%
• 3PT%: Ellis ~45% | Lowe ~21%

🧠 Bottom line
• Ellis: More efficient, better all-around
• Lowe: Similar scoring, less efficient, smaller role

👉 Edge right now: Ellis
To me, one of the biggest concerns is health for our main pieces, especially the starter and backup pg roles.

Wouldn't take much to be better than Lowe this season, but I wouldn't pay Lowe much even if he wants to be backup. We need him reliable, PERIOD, to help lead our squad.

It seems consensus that the Euroleague is a notch below the NBA Gold Standard and above about every other other league internationally. ESPN has an article on this as well. With about the same ranking.

All you "Negative Nancy's" need to step away from your computers and go get some counseling. If I was a 5-star recruit and read all this negative s**t I'd do a 180 and run the opposite direction. I understand the frustrations and all, I get it. But to keep pounding it in the ground is not going to help this program. The repetitious negative comments are boring. Some will say this is what this message board is for. To vent your frustrations about this program. It is also for venting your frustrations on other things as well. So I did. I said my piece. Have a nice day and GO CAT!!!

Apparently Florida and other schools don't have anyone signed, either.
This is Kentucky last I checked. We should be getting top tier recruits. So because Florida and other schools don’t have anyone signed, we should be content and unconcerned?

We are about to get bounced in round one by Santa Clara and have zero recruits signed. I guess because Florida doesn’t have anyone I won’t worry about it.

Well, we didn't get bounced, did we? Mr Negative. And, past time I checked Florida is now an elite basketball program. The past means nothing to recruits or reasonable fans who are aware of the state of the program.

The state of the program is my concern. In case you haven’t noticed, we suck. We got lucky with a prayer buzzer beater to tie and barely beat Santa Clara.

If you want to continue to massage Pope’s prostate, have at it. He isn’t the answer. He is a mediocre AT BEST coach.
