Can anyone recommend a nice, clean restaurant with good food, for a family dinner. Nothing too fancy and nothing too limited. No chain restaurants. Gluten-free options a must. Thanks!

Tgar has no idea what Gluten Free means but hopefully this place has a dish or two to meet your needs. Give them a call.

Bella”s on Fort Couch Road is our go to when in town. A classic western Pennsylvania Italian restaurant with tables in the dining room and booths in the bar. MAKE A RESERVATION.

Classic western Pennsylvania Italian, greens and beans ( ask for spicy sausage on it ) fried zucchini, stuffed long hots, spots with crab meat, and a sensational Chicken Parm that will feed you twice.

The staff is great, the owner is a good guy, it will most likely be full, good wine list etc. etc.

I’ll suggest Al’s Cafe. Have only been there once when we took my aunt who lives down that way. Atmosphere is not like a diner, nor a fufu place. Lots of wood, like a lodge.

In the future, I will always suggest there over places like the Porch, BJs, etc. that we’ve been to with her. Wish we had known about it earlier.

I made a reservation at Bella's for Saturday. Thanks!

If you want to venture just one community over from Bethel Park, V&V Scratch Kitchen has world class food. Check the reviews - as good as you will see anywhere.

I've lived in the area for 45 years and can offer the following ...
Bellas is a great restaurant. My recommendation would be the spots with crabmeat.
Pasta Too is pretty good too, but we usually got take out from there. Never had a bad meal, but I prefer Bellas.
Als Cafe is really good. They probably have a 12 page menu and while one could think it can't all be good, it is.
Never been to V & V Scratch Kitchen, but heard good things about it.
You made a great choice with Bellas.

in the 15102 You are either loyal to Bella’s or you are loyal to Pasta Too. No question about it LOL.
I like both honestly. Moved away from the South Hills about a decade ago but the best part of Pasta Too was the portions. I think Bella's had better quality but my wife and I used to be able to feed ourselves and 3 young kids with 2 takeout meals. Almost makes me want to take a trip out there

Thanks for the Bella's tip. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the artichoke hearts, salad, saltimbocca and tiramasu. Unfortunately my daughter (has autism) didn't have a good night and I had to escort her to the parking lot before she tore the place apart.

Treat yourself. All the places you mentioned are good/very good. V&V Scratch Kitchen is otherworldly.

I am not exactly a foodie. But I travel a lot and have eaten at excellent restaurants all over the world.

You’ll never believe it when you drive up to the place. But trust me, it is as good as anyplace, anywhere.

Reviews and awards back me up and then some.

Pasta Too has dialed back the portions a bit.
