I usually try to get this done but it never works. Usually The radio call is about 10 to 15 seconds behind the on screen action. Does anyone from the all knowing board know how to do this?
I do a synch by observing if the tv is going faster than lion vision I pause the tv for the appropriate seconds. More likely lion vision is ahead and I pause lion vision. That is the advantage of lion vision over the actual radio that you can't pause. Normally take note of start, out of bounds, awarded a takedown etc. to synch the two up. It takes me normally about 1/2 the first period to get it right... but beware commercials sometimes unsynch them.
My system is to listen on my Alexa. I first say "Alexa play WOWY 97.7". It starts playing. Alexa is always ahead of the TV. I wait to hear a whistle on the Alexa feed, and I say "Alexa pause". Then, when the whistle occurs on TV, I say "Alexa play" and it syncs up.
I prefer listening to the actual radio broadcast to the online audio stream because it is a few seconds ahead. Especially for the tournament when I can’t spend three entire days glued to the screen. That way Byers given be a heads up to get myself back to the screen if I am missing something important.
Light travels 186,282 miles per second. If the sound is 10 seconds behind the video, you could try sitting further away. If you are wearing headphones to listen to Byers, then sitting 1,862,820 miles from the TV will even it out.
Keep in mind that light travels faster than sound, that is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak! Just a thought to consider as you try to sync.
