Minitory opinion here, surely. I freaking love rhubarb pie. Cherry peach rhubarb mince are my favorites.

LOL, I'd expect nothing less from a Neshaminy alum.

We've had threads in the past on this board about pies, and I've mentioned how much of a fan of pies I am. There are so many good ones. However, I am not a fan rhubarb pie. Who knows, perhaps that will change. I went 40 some years refusing to try a pecan pie, but once I did, I was kicking myself for missing out for so many years.

Fixed, just for ***** and giggles. ;)

I like strawberry rhubarb, but the restaurant that served it is no longer around, owners aged out.

My wife just made shoo fly pie for the first time. We got frustrated by the store baked versions. Quite good, but I still like ones from Dixons best.

I love shoofly pie. And it's really easy to make. Some folks insist on placing the crumble mixture inside the shell (as well as on top), and others just place it on top. I enjoy either, though I think placing the crumble mixture inside the shell keeps the shell from getting too soggy. But, that's not a huge problem for me if a shoofly pie is around, as they don't last very long if they're in my presence. ;)

Enjoy the pie that your wife made!

Wet bottom vs dry bottom pies, I believe. I prefer the wet bottom.

We had black forest pie this evening.

Linvilla Orchards in Delco makes a five berry pie with rhubarb to cut the sweetness this time of year. I may need to make the drive. Only problem is I'll eat the whole things in a couple days:(

Giant Eagle has apple and apple crumb pies for $3.14 today (and yesterday). Not trying to claim they are the best, but can’t complain at that price.

I’m not a frequent pie eater, but there are three seasonal must-haves….

In summer, black raspberry custard. They’re available at farmers markets, but for a very short season. My dad used to go out and pick wild ones… he’d come home with a big bowl full… bathed in sweat, and his forearms bloody from thorn scratches

For Thanksgiving, pecan… better yet, chocolate pecan, or even chocolate coconut pecan!

And for New Year’s, mince… we offer it to all guests, many are afraid to try it, but most of those who do love it… we warm it WAY up and melt vanilla ice cream over it. My wife and I won’t eat it alone if the other isn’t hungry for it. We say it brings us… and the world, good luck for the new year… we were busy with the run up to our son’s wedding in December 2019, so it was sold out and we missed it that new year… see what happened then!

One of the rare types of pie that I've never tried. I don't like cherries (I know; those that like them swear by them, but I'm just not a fan of the flavor). So while black forest pies look great, and I love a chocolate pie which is a lot like the black forest pie without the cherries, I've never tried a black forest pie.

Black raspberry custard is a great pie. At this point in my life, I'm happier just buying picked black raspberries than going out and picking them, as the thorns are a PITA.

Pecan pie and chocolate pecan pie are both excellent pies, though I rarely eat that at Thanksgiving, as I really like sweet potato pie at that holiday.

Mince meat pie is ok, but not one of my favorites.

Shoofly pie is good, but shoofly cake is better.

Not sure. I used to see it occasionally in a vending machine at work.
And I did edit my post calling it Dixon's. Thanks for the correction.

I looked it up and Wixon's still exists. Online orders are available for delivery. They must operate out of a different location. I agree Wixon's is the best!

Usually it’s strawberry rhubarb pie from what I always saw at farmers markets and pa Dutch bakers. If I’m wrong let me know thanks

Tried rhubarb pie for the first time in my life here in Ohio about twenty years ago. Grew up and SE PA (Bucks Cointy) and never tried rhubarb pie. I Really like it.
