I'm sorry but I've never in my life seen a more weird and bizarre fanbase than them (Putting aside the normal and perfectly friendly ones.) Kentucky fans might be annoying (like every fanbase) but it's mostly a bragging type of annoying. Arkansas fans consistently continue to have the most backwards mentality I've ever seen. Praising and trying to claim former Kentucky players, like Bam, who wore Kentucky jerseys and literally played and beat their team. It's so cringe and weird. Would they say the same about Acuff when Cal eventually leaves/retires? Imagine thinking any player who played for Cal is now part of their program... it's just extremely desperate and self-deprecating, and embarrassing. A portion of them just continue to be the most nasty and bizarre fans.

Arkansas doesn’t have anything they’re grasping at what they can. They want to believe these are Arkansas players, I’ve seen it it’s very weird and bizarre. Calipari cares absolutely zilch about Arkansas I can still see him getting off that plane looking at those weirdos doing that cult like cringy mating call for whatever it is lol.

Arkansas has always had a complex because they’re a lot like bama and Kentucky in that UA is their only claim in the state. The issue is they’ve never been a destination, both programs are really stepping stone, closer to poverty programs and so they love thinking about themselves as Kentucky. I think it’s great. They don’t even know that they’re essentially jealous and want to think of themselves as UK. I mean that’s exactly what they’re doing lol. Arkansas is a regional program, it’s not really a national brand and so this is what you get from a small stepping stone. It’s happened before.

The former UK’s players’ success will benefit Arkansas way more than Kentucky. They are our guys, but Arkansas will reap the recruiting gains while the former players continue to excel.

It's sad they don't have any tradition or history. They'd kill for a UK legend like Big Friendly Corliss Williamson

I have a few friends from/in NW Arkansas. Its a different breed of people out there. I like them fine, but they don't look at the world the way I do. I think its a combo of being a very backward place (hey, I'm not casting stones...I'm from Kentucky) and then having monolithic Walmart/Tyson corporate culture envelop everything. It informs their emotional attachments as well as their behavior. They also have a massive inferiority complex in the SEC. MASSIVE. There are also, now, tons of imports there which changes things and a lot of those folks latch on to whatever and try to make it theirs and pretend to be part of things they don't even fully understand (which is not that different from places in Texas, North Carolina, Nashville, etc.).

I coached a kid in HS that runs track there now. He says the star power around Cal and the basketball team is insane. He's mentioned meeting a bunch of former Cats that have visited. He always tells me about it when they're in town. We still see each other a lot, as I coached his sister this year and they live in our neighborhood. He does talk about how nutty the fanbase is. As an athlete, he loves it...but he readily admits it's pretty nuts.

The reality is that if Cal stayed here everyone would be miserable. He finally got a true star PG for first time in a while and tons of returning players and managed to finish a whopping 4th in the SEC and still with worse seasons than UNC, Duke, Kansas, UCONN, Florida, Alabama etc. multiple blowouts. Their big game day game they lose by THIRTY. You got Brad as an assistant etc. it would’ve been so toxic around here with a giant buyout to boot. Everyone for all sides seems much happier, Arkansas fans are happy with the results. Just overall a win/win for everyone.

Twitter was flooded with Arkansas fans posting pics of Bam in an Arkansas jersey after the 83 game. Of course when UK fans called them weird they claimed they were just trolling. Either way they have Kentucky on their mind more than their own team.
Had a few of them block me when I reminded them that we had this demon coaching our Women's team back in the mid 90s

Arkansas fans and Florida fans…my X timeline is full of them in the For You section and my god both are so unbelievably stupid. It’s not even annoying it’s just comical.

You’d think Arkansas fans would be talking about Jaylin Williams after he went toe to toe with Jokic for 40 minutes the other night and continues to be a huge part of the OKC thunders push for a back to back. Williams is leading the league in 3pt% since the all star break and other than SGA has been one of the biggest reasons they’ve been able to weather their bad injury luck and stay in first overall

Nope. Not a peep from the pig fans about him. They barely know he exists. They’d rather claim our guys instead. For as much as they invest in the sport emotionally theu sure dont seem to know ball very well.

I told my mom after Bam’s big game I really wished Cal had been able to keep things rolling here.

There’s so many different possibilities of why he fell off. Im always going to wonder which one or ones were actually the biggest reasons.

Your take is off ... Arkansas doesn't claim former Kentucky players at all . We laugh when they rep Arkansas gear causes it pisses off Kentucky . We completely understand these high profile kids Cal gets is because of Cal and not Arkansas .

Kentucky fans always thought it was because of "the brand" Cal got all that talent . It was never about the brand but about World Wide Wess and CAL .Once Wess was out of the picture the NBA OAD Machine was built .

Good thing for Arkansas is this is Cals last stop so we wont have to watch Acuff or any other former Razorbacks repping other schools .

Arkansas is legit a nothing program of course those players think nothing about it lol. Calipari wanted the Kentucky brand and his own staff said it made it much easier to recruit with. His right hand man said recruiting to Kentucky is easy, and Calipari never had it quite like that. Calipari said he’d crawl over broken glass to get to Kentucky. He wanted Kentucky to make his system complete. So you don’t know what you’re talking about Calipari and his staff full stop don’t agree with you.

Kentucky is a nations brand. Arkansas is a regional brand no one thinks about. That’s not a knock it’s the truth. We’ve taken coached from the Knicks, you lose coaches to Southern California, and KENTUCKY. Arkansas is just not a nationally known or relevant program. We’ve pulled countless amounts of kids due to the Kentucky brand, you’ve never pulled a recruit because they thought about Arkansas. Obviously, the coach really matters. But you guys are hilarious with this stuff. Bro Arkansas is a stepping stone. Calipari had no options he tried to go to Ohio state and couldn’t.

This isn’t old Calipari that Kentucky had. This is rich fat washed caliapri. You were FAR BETTER off with Muss. You’ve got about one of the most retarded f’n fanbases I’ve ever seen. And BTW, Arkansas is just for him to finish that contract. Once he’s done there you’ll only see him here. Yall are in a for a rude awakening. This is where he considers his career legacy. He didn’t even want to leave lol.

Why does it seem that so often so many of our fan base are jealous of Arkansas? Many people think they did us a favor by hiring John Calapari but then we regret him being able to do better there than he was here. I have found their fan base to be nothing as bad as those from Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. I’ve been to two basketball games at their arena and had no problem with anybody and was even welcomed which I haven’t really experienced at other SEC venues. I’m fine with Calapari there and glad that we are onto different ventures, but I certainly have not found any fault with them like I have Tennessee fans.

Lets see .... At this moment Arkansas has the #2 recruiting ranking . Pope has to wait for the transfer portal open to find kids that want to play for him.

Kentucky no doubt has always been a national brand and that coupled with Cal for sure helped BUT Kentucky never had that amount of talent before Cal and now after .

Rich fat washed up Cal has the Razorbacks with a double bye and a 4-5 seed in the big dance ... Is that elite ? No but its still better than what Pope has done this year at the mighty Kentucky .

This years offense is also the most efficient in Cals entire career . Not bad for a fat washed up Cal .

Ask any Razorback fan if they would take Muss over Cal and every single one will tell you they were glad for what Muss did in restoring the program but would take Cal all day long . Muss about to miss his third straight NCAA Tournament btw .

I have no doubt once Cal is done coaching he will end up in Rupp unless he is so jaded by the way he was treated by the fanbase (a legit point) . If Cal didn't want to leave he wouldn't have . Remember that lifetime contract he walked away from lol .

Arkansas had the most watched reg season game against Duke this year which is the most in the last 30 years and are also the 5th most watched team . Not bad for a nothing program .

Your take is off considering Kentucky and Arkansas are not comparable programs. not even slightly. So you don't get to say players only wanted to play for Cal at Kentucky just like they only want to play for Cal at Arkansas. Many, many players say Kentucky is among their dream schools but not very many say that about Arkansas. The same could probably be said for Arkansas in baseball over Kentucky. But you do not get to say "Arkansas and Kentucky are essentially the same to a recruit and the difference is Cal." And the vast majority of UK fans understand that these were 1 and done players who have been in the league for 5-15 years. Of course they aren't thinking about UK all the time but they have absolutely nothing to do with Arkansas. And Cal has earned the right to recruit high profile players at other schools now but make no mistake Cal was not a juggernaut recruiter before Kentucky, obviously, and Pope is just a bad recruiter/negotiator, nobody argues that. It's actually extremely narcissistic and crazy for Arkansas fans, like yourself, to think Kentucky had nothing to do with Calipari's recruiting, despite the fact that his NBA production increased 10x at Kentucky compared to Memphis and Umass. Like "a good recruiter going to a blue blood definitely had nothing to do with him all the sudden getting all the best recruits year after year"?

It's also very sneaky and disingenuous to leave out the part about NIL which was not a thing when Kentucky was racking up No. 1 recruiting classes year after year but now Cal and other schools are able to use that to draw recruits away from the traditional blue bloods to give extra incentive for recruits to go to Arkansas. And you do not get to talk about "brand" in basketball. There is a mountain of evidence that Kentucky, the literal winningest program in all of college basketball, with the #1 rated fanbase by EVERY media outlet/person very much so has an international brand that helps drive the sport.

Yes been all over Kentucky. Arkansas the worst.
I really don’t understand the point of crapping on other people and their homes because some fans of a school bother you. It’s pretty hypocritical and sounds like something Indiana fans usually do when they can’t back up their words with their team’s performances.

But it’s not shocking when we’re quickly falling off the same cliff Indiana did back in the 90s.

It’s not about the fans of any team. My wife has family in Arkansas. The state has the dumbest people I have ever been around. Sorry this triggered you.
