We have way more seed points than DT’s pokes, but they have one more wrestler seeded to be AA. I’m confident Cole will ensure that doesn’t happen.

Are the quarters first thing in the morning? Having Volk vs Bouzakis again right off the scale isn’t good for Bouzakis
Cannon coming off the scales coming off injury v PJ isn’t good for Cannon.

On the lookout for a spreadsheet if/when someone comes across one. Someone on the Iowa board typically puts one together that I've used in the past. I could probably repurpose last year's spreadsheet but that would be more work than waiting around for one to magically appear.

Facundo is the only wrestler in the field that has a win over Haines in any style since Haines has been at Penn State and Kharchla has challenged him in the past. He'll still win it all but I think Haines got the worst possible draw.

I also think Davis got the best possible draw. Where would you put him in the 12-16 range that could be better? Drury is underseeded at 19 but it's winnable and Hardy is his best matchup in the round of 16 as he was winning when he got caught.
Agreed on this -- and the 11 would've also been not great with Cornella in Round 2. That just flips the Round 2 and quarters matchups, but at least Davis has faced Hardy and knows he can score.

Seidel can definitely beat Forrest. He was hammering him earlier and did something stupid. Got caught in a 7 point move. Then lost 12 to 11. Im picking him to beat Forrest. You have to know how to wrestle a certain style and he does.
It wasn't a 7-pt move, and that wasn't the final score.

But at least the final margin is correct.

Overall I think this is the best draw we’ve gotten in a few years. I seem to recall 3 or 4 years ago we were equally pleased.

That’s about as good a bracket as one could ever have in the national tournament. None of the big conference big dogs and James Conway in the semis after losing in his conference tournament. He paid no price for losing it seems.
This is a problem with the NCAA seeding criteria: Conway beat all of the next guys except Ferrari in Win %, and all of them except Neitenbach in conference placement (both 2nd).

Allred was next up in the last regular season poll, but he defaulted out of B10s after the quarters. So he got dropped to the 8 seed, much like Ferrari got dropped to 7.

Maybe the committee could've flipped 4 Conway with 5 Mantanona after the math, but that's a pretty marginal change (1 spot and they still meet in the quarters) that they're unlikely to bother making.

It was a 7 point move and final score was 10-9.
It was a 3, and a separate NF4 when Seidel didn't try to get to base and Forrest moved up to turn him. There was a definite delay between scoring moves.

Saying it was a 7 is misleading. Forrest didn't throw him to his back or take him there as part of the takedown.

That is splitting hairs. It was the same sequence. May have been a delay of a second or two before NF points started.

Facundo’s win was when Levi had a huge cut in a short period of time and wasnot committed to the tourney - something like that when he was being interviewed. I not worried about that matchup at all

I ran into Levi after that match at Olde New York. Bought him a beer and he happily imbibed after that cut!

Holy cow did Welsh get a dream draw. I'd have liked to see them split up 133 to get some different matchups but Blaze can't complain, his biggest test to get to the finals is a guy he's beaten.

Not sure if Cardenas has jumped levels since November but this version of Duke is most definitely not the November version he saw in that one takedown match ..which...he also lost.

Let's try to hold back on the MSU158 stuff ok Madden?

Say what you will about how tough 133 is, but it is one of only two weights (with 197) to have two sub-0.500 wrestlers. Blake Boarman (#24 - Purdue)) made it in with a 44.4% win %, but Carter Schmidt (#33 - Oklahoma) takes the cake with a 33.3% win% - the lowest in the tournament.

I'm repurposing last year's. Good news, it'll be ready in the morning. bad news, if it doesn't work, I don't know how to fix it
