I assume they will eventually move to a football stadium for Nationals. After all, 2020 was scheduled to be in one. B1G can't support a football stadium for its tourney. There were a lot of empty seats at BJC. Attendance for each session was a bit over 13000.
I think having B1Gs same weekend as PIAA tourney took some fans away, but was still a good turnout. I was at the BJC. Penn State and BJC staff were good. But the food and alcohol prices were outrageous. $16 for a can of “premium” beer😡😡😡

I could defn see Indianapolis, Cleveland, Philly, Chicago, DC, Detroit etc lobbying hard to bid on the B1Gs. Especially if they can sell $20 beers lol

It was enough to make me quit drinking beer for a few hours. ;)

I've been to almost every wrestling event in the world, B1Gs, NCAAs, WTT, Olympic Trials, Final Xs, Senior Worlds, U23 Worlds and I can definitively say, the crowd at the BJC was one of the best I've witnessed. Roar hit the nail on the head, season ticket holders got up to 8 extra tickets and filled them with other local fans, not to mention all the drive distance fans that rarely can get in Rec Hall. I, for one am NOT excited about a single venue for every year. JMO.

As an Ohio State fan and Columbus resident, I would love to have it here. However, the crowd was absolutely awesome at PSU and I loved it even if I don't love Penn State. The same crowd at Iowa and Tulsa (Okie State) when the arena comes to life is awesome. So it should be somewhere close to PSU or Iowa, but I'd rule out Iowa because the crowd wouldn't have much to cheer about!

And this just shows that Wyoming doesn't have a monopoly on conspiracy theory whining.

While it's true that Hershey badly wants to keep PA states, it's also true that PSU will price itself out of any competition.

Hershey lost PIAA Football to Cumberland Valley High School, so it's not like they have a stranglehold on PIAA. BTW, PSU also bid on it and was by far the most expensive candidate.

And The Corporation for Penn State doesn't have deep pockets?
Football doesn’t fill their hotels like wrestling does. Not sure BB does as that’s why HV didn’t bid on the next cycle after hosting it. The BJC is also difficult to get into during the winter/spring because of PSU Basketball.

There is probably an IM team or 2 on campus that would give the men’s BB team a serious run for their money.
PSU BB = pathetic!!
