Did White do enough to get in? Shawver should get a WC spot at 133 short of massive ********. So either we get 9 in or all 10 in.
White is eligible for a WC but idk if he’ll get it. 15-8 with 1 win over an NQ (Millard). Currently 5 guys (ACCs and IVY are still wrestling) that earned a spot for their conference need wilcards. 4 wildcards are available. White beat 2 of the guys that need a wildcard but they both had better seasons then him.

Shawver is on the bubble. 5 wildcards available for 133. Currently 4 guys who earned allocations that need one . Brown from Maryland is one which is good for Shawver but he only has 1 win over an ncaa qualifier this year (Benetcourt)

By far the best conference in the country for wrestling and by far the worst conference in the country for officiating.

WTF was that, the side ref ruled off back points. These guys are blind. I thought it was 4 instead of 2 and the dipsh*t side ref wipes them all out.
There’s absolutely no need for a 2nd ref in this sport, unless their only responsibilities are time countdown and locked hands/illegal moves.

Barbossa loses on late TD. Tough end of the tournament for him with 3 straight losses.

Barbosa needs to learn to be more offensive and get stronger. the skills are there but he cant just rely on being good defensively. He has ability to go get takedowns

Cotton wrestling pretty good and smart match so far.

OK so much for that Cotton just got pinned. And the 2026 B1G Championships go out with a whimper.

Who is happy with an 8th place finish?

I am not happy!

We should not to be in the bottom half of the Big Ten Conference.

Hope we turn it around in Cleveland!

The impact this round with the exception of Oliveri we are going to get lower seeds at the NCAA’s.

Bottom line: we likely get nine out of 10 weights represented at the NCAA’s. Did anybody think this would be the case in December? Even midway through January?

Now, for once, can one of our teams exceed expectations in the postseason? We’re due. Let’s go!

We came out timid early which cost us but how do you replicate the fire we had with Minnesota.

Well, preseason there is usually always hype n positive hoo rah.. some people were saying this could be our best team ever and possibly 3+ AA and yeah maybe qualify 9/10 or everyone ofc this was all preseason… qualifying a whole squad would be impressive but they really should consider giving a team point just for qualifying a wrestler…

I highly doubt anybody said this could be our best team ever

It was either best or def deepest with no holes. That was said of either this preseason or the last few. And there were def predictions of possible 3+ AA

As evident by the fact that we’re staring at potentially 9 guys going to nationals and the 10th guy was a big ten 5 seed sitting on the bubble, well anyone who predicted this team doesn’t have any holes has been proven correct.

The AA “prediction” is always taken completely out of context. I remember those conversations vividly. Most people said, and repeatedly clarified, that any of 3+ guys are capable of AA’ing but it’s highly unlikely that all guys do.

The same conversation happened in prior years with numbers going as high as 7+, again with the clarification that it’s unlikely all 7+ get there but rather 7+ have the ability to do it.

I said Olivieri would AA preseason but couldn't anticipate his long lay off. I remember there was a lot of chatter about no AAs. 3 seems wildly optimistic but not impossible.

Rutgers has struggled at NCAA recently. Teams they beat at big tens could pass them in 2 weeks. Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue and maybe even Maryland should have wrestlers place. As a fan, I'd love to see Rutgers finish ahead of these teams (and in state teams too!!!).

This Rutgers roster is not shaped up to be a good tournament team. I actually think they managed to become a better dual team than last year while simultaneously becoming a worst tournament team which is almost impossible.

I do think they’ll turn a bit of a corner next year with Knox and both Harer’s coming in. They’ll have to hit the portal to fill in a hole or two but I think Knox alone will have them rising up the tournament standings. He’s also the type of recruit where more talent should be coming.

I think most folks on here preseason basically agreed that for this season the AA O/U was likely at 1.5 with a general consensus that the best AA chances were Shawver, Olivieri, and Pinto.
Unfortunately it’s probably O/U of .5 now. Smith,Shawver,Clark,Pinto, SCW and Catka have about 1 percent of placing

Barbosa and cotton maybe a 15 percent chance thats draw dependent.

Joey O has a chance but he’ll have to upset at least one maybe 2 guys seeded higher then him

Shawver got a tough break. Even if he reclaimed his magic from a couple years ago this 133 group is completely ridiculous. There’s 10+ guys who are locks as AA’s in any other year, now 2 are automatically going to miss and that doesn’t even account for a Cinderella run from someone or a tough draw in the bracket forcing someone off the podium.

A tough break? He had his opportunity. While I'm impressed he was able to beat Braxton Brown twice, his performance during the regular season and the B1G tournament was uninspiring. He is where he got himself.
