Combination of things but w lack of RPI, number of matches for the other guys, perspective of competition level of the Big 10 and also maybe to prevent Blaze/Davino #3 in the semis, I think it’s

Davino
Jax
Blaze
Byrd
Seidel
Larkin

The #1 is ideal bc of the Byrd matchup being nice in the semis. If Jax wrestled the entire year I think he’s clearly the 1.

I can see that but I think being undefeated and winning your conference should count for something.

100% agree, I’ve just never fully understood the exact interplay between humans and computers for nationals. If it were up to me..

Jax
Davino
Blaze
Seidel
Byrd
Larkin

Didn't Byrd get 5th?

Also, I know you can get yourself tied in a knot with comparative scoring but just recently Jax tech falled Ayala and the Ayala/Blaze/Davino matches were all close

RPI isn’t as weighted as it’s talked about…10% if the flo article is accurate.

The good:
-quality wins
-coaches ranking (which will also be in the bad)
-conference ranking
-win %

The bad:
-Jax has no head-to-head with Blaze or Davino
-It appears bonus rate/dominance is not a factor
-Coaches Ranking (there is an ability here to rank Jax poorly to impact the formula and it’s been proven that it does happen)
-Money. A Blaze/Davino semi is not profitable. One caveat, I don’t know how big of a factor this actually is.

What is best for Jax is Seidel staying away from the 4 or 5 giving Jax a semi with Byrd. Which I don’t see how it’s avoided unless Jax is the 2 or 3, with Seidel being a 4/5.

I don’t think Jax cares where he is and the other guys want to be on the opposite of the bracket😜. I would like to see Jax Byrd Friday night.
I am sure there will be a lot of debate about this weight.🤔

It is safe to say Seidel has jumped levels after coming to college. I hope they put Blaze against Seidel in quarters.

Seidel is most certainly Jax biggest threat. Explosive offense, strong and poised. Jax was gritty in that match but easily could have lost. Don't think Seidel hasn't learned from that loss and will be much more prepared if they meet again in Cleveland. Jax can't let Seidel control the pace early like he did in the first meeting. You can't get down big like that again.

With that being said, I still believe Jax is the favorite but most definitely will not be a cake walk. He will be challenged later in the torny.

I saw on X where they rank the top guys by wins on automatic qualifiers. Davino and Jax have 7 wins, Blaze has 6 wins, and the surprising one is Seidel with 2 wins.

Seidel ? Only loss Jax
Larkin? Only loss to Jax and a MFF to frost .
I was just basing off of the top 4 listed above....

Seidel I think gets the 4 seed personally, I think Byrd getting 5th really kills his chances at a top 3-4 seed, he probably gets the 5.

Larkin is a weird one...

If I had to wage a bet with seeding...

1. Davino
2. Jax
3. Blaze
4. Seidel
5. Larkin
6. Byrd

Jax is undefeated with two wins from that group. I would not be surprised to see.
1. Jax
2. Davino
3. Seidel
4. Blaze
5. Larkin
6. Byrd. Byrd may have a minor injury that caused him to lose that head scratcher.

I think we give PSU and the Big 10 too much credit.

Not having those RPI points makes it 10-0 with only 90 points remaining. And no head to head so now down 10-0 with 65 remaining . Conference placement is a wash so down 10 with 50 remaining.Hard to beat Davino who's wrestled all year and has many quality wins. Davino win over blaze will put him ahead of Jax in the coaches rankings I would think. That would be down 20-0 with 40 remaining. Jax has winning %. 20-10 with 30 remaining. They've the same common Drake Davino beat him twice. So 20 remaining for quality wins and Jax has 7 and Davino 9

Yeah the only thing I'm sure of for 133 is that Davino will get the 1 seed. Jax is my pick to win it all, but wrestling a full season compared to a half season has to count for something.
