Carter Chunko over Dom Deputy of Chestnut Ridge 8-0. I did not see that coming. Deputy has had a heck of a career at Ridge and is headed to NC State. Chunko is going to Rutgers.

I think I’m watching Elijah live on YouTube against Bechtold. Winning 4-1 with 2 seconds left. Elijah looks skinny at 215 and should fill out perfectly. Great double to secure it with the only takedown. Very close to a second
He definitely could hold more weight hes lanky

Brown looks quick and fluid, the skinny legs will need some bulk for heavy weight. Also Bechtold the elder is a big dude.

Bechtold didn’t want to wrestle. He spent nearly 6 minutes on his feet, and I don’t think he had a committed TD attempt.

Suppose I’m asking a dumb question, but do you all think they end it with Bassett/Harer tomorrow or go traditional order?

That was a Cassar-level blast double to open the 3rd.

Wish Brown hadn't gotten injured and could've eaten his way up to HWT. Dean Bechtold would've been a very good measuring stick.

Speaking of which: good showing by Gettysburg JR 215 Nolan Reinert wrestling HWT for the postseason. Reinert was undefeated until the state semis, where he lost to Bechtold 14-1. He was the first opponent all year to reach the second period on Bechtold, and kept shooting until the end, even after being under a punishing ride for much of the 2nd.

I realize there's likely no HWT room at the inn, but that's the kind of guy you'd want on the team.

That’s progress. Speece tech called Teag a few weeks ago. He is a Sr and Teags a freshman. Great tournament for Teag especially for 172. kid is going to be a great one like Dad

In the fourth match involving a Penn State connection, Teag Sanderson lost by major decision to McKaden Speece of Wilson, 14-6, at 172 pounds. He is also now in the consolation bracket.
This was the type of match @dicemen99 cautioned us about. The difference in muscular development between the two was obvious. Speece was far more physical than Teag, and manhandled him with the underhook. Also won scrambles largely by bullying Teag on the mat.

Teag definitely has potential. Fluid on feet. Just needs to get physically stronger and work on underhook avoidance/defense.

The Morrison match showed some things Sidun will need to work on.

He kinda coasted a little in the 3rd with the lead. It nearly cost him.

Also, Morrison's takedown at the 3rd period buzzer was pure height/reach differential. Sidun will often face taller/longer guys, and so he needs to avoid putting himself in vulnerable positions.
