If seeds remain the same, Iowa's quarterfinals matches could look like this.

125 LL
133 Fugitt
141 Ragusin
149 SVN
157 PJ (VV has to get past Cannon 1st)
165 Barbosa
174 Gilcher
184 Welch
197 Geog
185 AJ

5 wins would be a good session for them. They could just as easily go 2-8.

If it's AI they had no idea how to use it. AI needs quality inputs and it improves with better framed questions/inputs. First iteration can be alarmingly bad. Anyway you break down what they did it seems clear that wrestling backups (ducked in some cases) was punitive and so was having limited matches. we can argue the merits of that data. an 8 dual in conference schedule when there's 14 teams isn't ideal either. I guess 5 more in conference duals is just too difficult?
The old "garbage in, garbage out"

Even if they included one more weekend, add 2 conference matches. It wouldn't be a full round robin, but it would give a clearer picture.

Scam likely

Levi teched Montanona a month ago, so who is it that scares you in the 1-seed path for the NCAA’s 2nd Most Dominant wrestler?
Karchala beating montanona , Levi owns Kennedy.plus both karchala and montanona beat minto. But Levi can beat all of them and has.

I was told 2:30pm Friday
Thanks. Make sense. Was looking earlier at our bracket release story from last year, and it was published at 2:56, so it was probably that last year, as well.

If anyone is at the Giant Center or watching PIAA states on FLO tomorrow and sees some idiot frantically scrambling away from a PSU recruit's quarterfinal mat toward his computer, don't be alarmed, and also, you'll then know the brackets are out.

Well we are the Host Team. Let’s hope people get word to Cael he is responsible today to bring up the seeding issues at the Coaches Meeting. We all know he’s not very comfortable talking about certain issues. This is definitely one that’s on everyone’s mind. The obvious ones definitely need changed. Im sure other Coaches will be speaking up about there wrestlers who are not seeded correctly. In addition Cael should bring up the wrestlers who are seeded to high or low from other schools since he’s the Host School.

I gotta believe that Cannon and A Ferrari will get reseeded. I understand that low match count should work against them, but it appears the algorithm hit them too hard.

It's the whole being within 15 points to challenge thing that could be a problem for them or well, anybody, since we don't have the math.

Yeah, I realize that, but after seeing the results, the coaches might call an audible.

They voted on the rules; they can vote to override the rules.

Which raises the question, who stands to gain the most? Who stands to lose the most?

I mentioned in another thread that there were 21 situations where someone with the H2H win was seeded one spot below the wrestler they beat.

In those situations Minnesota has been most favored with 4 wrestlers seeded directly above the wrestler they lost to. Rutgers is next most favored with 3.

On the other side Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue each have 2 wrestlers seeded directly below the wrestler they beat.

There are also two situations where A beat B who Beat C but they are seeded C, B, A.

I get that. But setting the expectation for the year, letting the year play out, and then completely blowing it up less than 24 hours before the tournament starts feels extremely unlikely to me. I'd sooner think that they play by the rules they created for this tournament, then start over next year. We shall see.

Yeah, I'd like to be a fly on the wall.

Common sense vs algorithm, I'm on the side of common sense.

We should see changes after the Coaches meeting this afternoon. Really Cael is the 1 Who should be Speaking Up Since we are the Host. Hopefully people are getting the Word to Him. Will see around 4:00 or 5:00.
