I think they may have took everyone and done a head to head and added all the totals for each guy together cause some guys are in the 800sI have questions:
H2H (vs. the field) is what is known as an oxymoron.
- It is either H2H (involving two parties confronting each other)
- Or, it is vs. the field (versus all other competitors).
It looks like it is not a "head to head" measure, but a "vs. the field" measure as several have pointed out.
Then the question becomes what was the intent of the people who outsourced this to wrestlestat? Did they intend this to be a "head to head" measure? Or did they intend this to be a "vs. the field" measure?
Given that there are other measures that encapsulate a "vs. the field" measure (common opponent, dual record) it seems they meant this as a true "head to head" measure. If that is the case, why was it not implemented that way?
It feels like a requirement was poorly communicated, then it was poorly executed, then it was poorly QAed, or not QAed at all.
I do not understand what that means. Can you give me an example? Or point me to where I can see the totals?I think they may have took everyone and done a head to head and added all the totals for each guy together cause some guys are in the 800s
I can't give you the totals they're not public. But I know some of them . And the #s are low 800s for some. 14 teams . 13 match ups 62 points per average gets you to 800s. That's the only way to get to a # that highI do not understand what that means. Can you give me an example? Or point me to where I can see the totals?
When you say low 800's what number is that referring to?I can't give you the totals they're not public. But I know some of them . And the #s are low 800s for some. 14 teams . 13 match ups 62 points per average gets you to 800s. That's the only way to get to a # that high
I know minto is 829 and Levi 818. The only way to achieve #s that high would be to have everyone match up with everyone and take those scores and add them up. 62 would represent the average one would need to score of the 100 in each match up to achieve a score in the 800sWhen you say low 800's what number is that referring to?
Same for 62 points, what is that referring to?
Like the new seeding system.. reward the wrestlers competing during the season and this will have dual meets matter a little bit, in regards to the seeding.New system leads to eye-opening Big Ten wrestling pre seeds
This formula:When you say low 800's what number is that referring to?

This formula:
Agreed, loving our seeds, every first round match is winnable. Idk how White got #4 but won’t complain about that lol.I’m sure some of the seeds will change. On balance, I really like our seeds and would be fine if no changes.
and SCW seeded higher than Ferrari at 184Smith being ranked higher than Peterson is funny to me
This is straight from the big ten network graphic they showed@obrats any details you can share on the formula, etc.? Not sure he made it over with the site switch, but maybe someone that knows him can reach out to have him post. Thanks
Yes, I posted that. Now can you show us how it's calculated to get 800 or so points, as corby mentioned? This is straight from the big ten network graphic they showed
Head to Head vs the field -25 Points
Common Opponents Record -25 points
Conference Dual Record- 20 points
Quality Matches- 10 points
RPI (NCAA) -10 points
coaches ranking-5 points
conference allocation-5 points
then whoever ends up with the most points gets the highest seed and if your wrestler finishes within 15 points of someone ahead of them the coaches can challenge and argue things like head to head wins . I saw an interview that Cael did and they are going to scrap or greatly alter this seeding system next year
They took all the guys and did a round robin and then took those totals and added them up is all I can think of . Each guy would be compared against the 13 others.Yes, I posted that. Now can you show us how it's calculated to get 800 or so points, as corby mentioned?
From the best guy on the team to the only one that didn’t earn a qualifying spot is pretty wild.. hope Shawver can end his sr year on a positive note.Shawver didn't earn a qualifying spot for the Big Ten
I was going to post that a few days ago. That's crazy. I'm hoping Dylan can harness his 2024 inner beast. I'd like to see the return of aggressive Dylan on his feet, getting his single leg duck unders and fireman's carries to push the pace. From the best guy on the team to the only one that didn’t earn a qualifying spot is pretty wild.. hope Shawver can end his sr year on a positive note.
I can see him placing top 8 and qualifying if he's more aggressive and offensive on his feet. Would he get a wild card if he places 9th?I was going to post that a few days ago. That's crazy. If he truly fizzles out?I can see him placing top 8 and qualifying if he's more aggressive and offensive on his feet. Would he get a wild card if he places 9th?
