Since Mitch is retiring in June what perfect time to start over with a new basketball coach too!
Mitch will not fire Pope as his last act as AD. A new AD will not fire Pope as his first act. He will really want to fire him after he watches a season of this basketball fuckery.

Shouldn't have the chance. He was a disastrous AD for revenue sports and Pope was his (hopefully) last FU to the fan base.
