And therein lies the glitch. The algorithm fails to account for Ducks.
I was thinking of this late last night while lying in bed trying to fall asleep. Unless the agreement the coaches came up with this season regarding this new seeding process is formally binding, the coaches very well may agree to disregard this 15 point rule in those cases where the algorithm spit out a seed the majority of the coaches disagree with. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that meeting on Friday! I can already picture some coaches screaming, "amateur hour", and lots of comments about "growing the sport" : )

I'm not trying to kiss Willie's *** about this because I certainly don't agree with him on every little thing, but Willie should absolutely be given the top job of overseeing the seeding for all the NCAA conferences and the Nationals, because the fact is that he's the very best in the country at doing it. Not nearly as drastic an example ... but 125 defending national champ Vincent Robinson is the 3 seed at ACCs.
That's what he earned. He's 0-3 this year vs the two guys seeded above him (Ventresca and Provo).

It accounts for them by punishing the guy who wrestled the substitute for the ducker. This "algorithm" has to be the dumbest effort ever at attempting to use logic to rank something.

Well, I got my client and I a front seat (Nothing but the best for my clients!). I made sure I brought a lot of paper currency and gave him half of it (So we both could be participatory).
So, up to this point, everything was going great...until...the stripper comes crawling towards me on her hands and knees with her mouth wide open.
My client was really into it as he was a "breast man" and his eyes were transfixed onto her large breasts bouncing in complete rhythm as she continued to crawl towards us.
When she finally came close enough that I could feel her breath on my face, she slowly reaches down towards my crouch and quickly grabs the end of my tie and starts to shove it in her mouth inch by inch.
I was royally pissed because that was a NEW $100+ (Which was expensive 25 yrs ago) Countess Mara tie I had purchased a week ago.
My client quickly grabbed my right arm because he felt certain that I was ready to punch or slap my tie from her mouth.
Now, I would never do something like that, but he said that my face got so boiling hot red, he didn't want to risk me doing something I would regret. So, better safe than sorry, right?
The ironic part to this story is that I was always the one watching over my clients and friends, not the other way around.

141 Olivieri up to the 9. He is within 15. Braeden to the 6. He majored Decracker who beat Clark and he is within 15. Will draw Vombour if he wins first round.

157 Cannon is not within 15 so he can't move up. No changes unless Iowa puts in Williams instead of Victor. If they enter Jordan then he slots in at the 8.
165 2 changes. Blaze up to the 2, he is within 15. Arajau beat Sparks so he moves up.

Brands could pull a Teske. Williams would get the 14 seed like Teske did.
It would be a terrible draw. He'd open with Webster, who majored him this year. If he won that, next would be Millard, who also majored him this year.
With Williams' tank, he might be better off forfeiting into consis for a better draw. Wait, he's not Ryan's son. Never mind.
I got the sense he caught himself before saying he voted for it ... but this works too.
Not actually buying baschs argument roe data science. The problem is that the data set is waaaaay too small to have any statistical power behind it. Particularly in you have a criterion like rpi that can become go/no go without any volume weighting

Whether it’s an algorithm that uses Willie as a consultant (in an attempt to clone Willie’s criteria), or Willie himself just eyeballs it, we run into a sample size issue.
It don’t matter what Penn state boys are seeded, they’re going to clean house. They are the best 1 or 2 hour weigh in team in the nation. Round of 16, 1/4s, 1/2s, or finals them boys are ready! Levi at #2, he don’t care, he’s second in the world too!
