Last time a Tar Heel had two homers in one game was Gavin who hit 2 vs. Elon, 2 vs OU and 3 vs Pitt
That definitely won’t cut it against ACC competition.Through 4IP, Carolina's given up 7 walks and an error. Forbes was heated yesterday about the focus and effort in the 9-1 win......

Like I said, even when he’s good his fastball and changeup are mostly non competitive. I think he’ll be fine because the slider is so good. As whole staff they need to find the zone early and often.I love reading your opinions. Do you think this is just a sophomore slump he can get out of, or are you concerned?
Haven’t had a chance to watch the last 2 games but I know he had a great game yesterday. Is he still pulling off of everything or is he keeping that front shoulder a bit more closed on the ABs where he has been driving the ball? Felt like he was drifting hard towards first base on almost every swing the first couple weeks.Hull just looks so good in the box, sees everything deep. Really think he’ll end up a .300 hitter.
It’s not really his shoulder that’s coming out, his front foot doesn’t stay closed long enough. His swing is very inside-out. Which is fine, but it isn’t going to produce a ton of pull side power.Haven’t had a chance to watch the last 2 games but I know he had a great game yesterday. The talent is certainly there and the fact he was in the 3 hole on opening day gives me lots of hope for the type of year he can have.
Couldn’t agree more. This has been an issue at the end of year too. It’s like they’re trying to be so perfect with pitches and corners but at the college level, they’re not as dial so we see a lot of ball nowhere near the zone. Those are too easy to take for hitters.Like I said, even when he’s good his fastball and changeup are mostly non competitive. I think he’ll be fine because the slider is so good. Yep, sadly it looks like we are only going to get 1 year from himSchaff is on track to be the best SS at Carolina since maybe Logan Warmoth.. man that kid can play.
Never a bad thing to produce draft picksYep, sadly it looks like we are only going to get 1 year from him
