Can we all agree she will either be a part of next year's team...or she won't

The way things are looking seem like Emely will be in a Hawkeye Uniform next year. She seems very happy and there doesn't seem to be a disconnect. I believe Emely wasn't used to being in a family like environment at UCF and now she realizes that she's apart of one. You can see it with the way she celebrates on the bench and always has a smile on her face. She probably pound for pound the most talent person on this team and would be a big time keep for Iowa.
Honestly, I have ZERO idea how someone could make the statement, "pound for pound the most talented player on the team"? Based on what exactly? She had basically one good game. Based on that Deal is already a all B1G player. What ER becomes (if she's even at Iowa) remains to be seen. To suggest that she has more talent then Ava or CCW at this point based off zero evidence, and a bunch of hope, makes no sense.

She's become the backup quarterback.

I feel 100 percent confident that there is a 50 percent chance she is back next year...or is it 50 percent chance she leaves.

This comment won’t age well. I really don’t care what you think of me honestly. You don’t know anything about me…So carry on.
This comment is aging like a fine wine my friend. You know what's likely turning to vinegar?

Here you go. The camera caught them right at the end of their hug

I watched that in slow motion and Kylie went down the line and she embraced Hannah and on her right was McCabe and on her left was Emely watching Kylie and smiling. She didn't turn right to McCabe but rather left to Emely. After that she then turned to McCabe.

I noticed that as well. Didn't see any of the seniors hugging it up with her....
That may be so, but below in the picture in post 206 she embraced Emely. You replied to someone posting an interesting dynamic and Kylie went out of her way to avoid Emely. It was a hectic scene so maybe someone got Kylie's attention and she turned away, but that's different than what the original post claimed.

Outside of pure speculation, what actual evidence is there that she’s coming back? You have to look at the sequence of events objectively. She was suspended, then almost immediately suffered a back injury, and then didn’t see the court the rest of the season. I’m not one to make bold predictions, but when you line those pieces up, the outlook doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Your timeline is wrong. She had the back injury then On3's Talia Goodman came out and said she was suspended and isn't traveling to New York then Jan Jensen came out and said Emely was never suspended and it's been a back injury ever since.

I don’t know where Emely will be playing next year, but I guarantee paying big bucks to a player who just sat out a season with a back injury is not something a smart GM will do. I’m guessing Emely’s next contract will be heavy on incentive and bonus pay.

I totally disagree. It was Jan that said she was suspended "indefinitely" for violating some team issue, and it was being handled , "in house".

It's not a matter of agreeing/disagreeing. There is one definitive timeline. Emely made some bad in-game time management decisions against Baylor. Then she only played 4 minutes against Miami. No one ever clarified if her reduced minutes were because of what happened against Baylor, just a game time decision, or if she was already dealing with back problems then.

The following game against Western Illinois she was listed as injured with a back injury. She continued to be with the team, including a Christmas gift exchange on December 12th, where she appears in photos with the team.

The next day, Dec 13 she is not on the bench against Lindenwood. Jan is asked about if she's still on the team and she gives the infamous "as of right now she is" response.

Talia Goodman reports on 12/18 that Emely is suspended indefinitely. All other reports are from her initial report. Emely doesn't travel to New York for the UConn game.

The week after the UConn game, in her midweek press conference, Jan is asked about Emely again. Jan never uses the word suspension in her response. She says they "handled it in house" and that Emely is currently in good standing with the team but still has a back injury. Emely has been with the team for every game since then.

I suppose it's possible Emely's back has healed a few weeks ago, but there has been a decision to take a medical redshirt. It's also possible that is not the case. It would be interesting to know if she is taking an active role in their practices. That may tell us a lot.

She might come back, or she might not come back. If she moves on that opens up another spot on the roster. If she comes back, she will play. No rocket science needed.

So your saying Goodman just made that up? Nonsense. And just WHAT exactly did they handle in house? There was also smoke that she had been showing up late for practice and team functions. Call it what you want. suspended, restricted from team activities, whatever..I mean what exactly does "as of right now mean". Cmon...

Nice straw man there. I simply laid out the facts that are public knowledge without any interpretation added.

Your statement that "It was Jan that said she was suspended "indefinitely" for violating some team issue" was demonstrably false. Jan never publicly confirmed or denied any suspension.

Does that mean I think she wasn't suspended? I never said anything of the sort. I just actually care about getting details correct.

I'm not going to dig it up, but I'm pretty sure Jan did in fact say she was suspended. Whether she did or not its pretty darn obvious she WAS suspended. As for all you care about is the details, well she was suspended or whatever, so that's the only relevant detail. Period. The fact that Jan said it or danced around it, is not relevant. Put whatever bow on that you want. Its meaningless.....

Yeah. This is really a weird situation with a lot of mental gymnastics required to assume that this has all been injury related.

Not a terrible theory.. or at least healed enough to play. But integrating her into the lineup now would be difficult and not worth it most likely. Better for her just to get the redshirt.

Here was Jan’s quote:

“She's back. We never announced (a suspension) ourselves, but we handled that internally…”
Translated: we gave her some time away, (or possibly forced her to take some time away).
It all adds up if you understand what you are looking at.

*And they are likely to never talk about it, so deal with it.

Yes Sir 🫡 .. Sorry.
P.S. not sure what I’m dealing with. Just providing a quote.

Iowa Instagram posting the video of Hannah’s and 1 celebration.. with the caption “Who’s ready for the ‘ship?!”

Emely responded: me ☝🏻
Stremlow responded: me too ☝🏻

Stremlow and Stuelke liked Emely’s comment..

Thought she was very engaged on the bench and in the post game huddle.

My vote is no transfer!

My vote is that she realized what she is missing out on and still wants to be friends with the girls. I would have a VERY hard time believing she will be here next year. Jan did her a solid by giving her a med red shirt.

I think there's probably a wager opportunity somewhere on Polymarket or Kalshi on this by now.

Not true. I just watched the end and Kylie went down the line and Emely was waiting on her and as Kylie went to her the camera changed positions and when it cam back to them they had just separated. It didn't show the exact hug, but Kylie sure as heck didn't avoid her, so let's put that to rest.
This is the truth. I was there.

You don't have to sit in Carver to watch what is going on. Sometimes cameras hone in on things you'd never see in person. Rewatched again this AM. You have your opinion and I have mine, I'll leave it at that.
The camera panned away right before they hugged. You're flat out wrong.

Iowa will find another good player, if she leaves... Same with Tavion Banks. He can come back for one more year under the "Pavia rule". But he is obviously an off the court issue with the team. Or at least that is the word of the season. But who knows...

For what it is worth, I hope they are both great teammates and come back next year.
