Well, I’m looking at how Oweh gets to take over games and see that I could step right into that vacant spot. That and nil being equal or better than others, I could see UK being a great choice.
I'm not deleting anything I've said..
This assumes that we have 8 players back from this squad. I'll eat my hat if we have more than 4 back.

It's hard to see more than 4 returning. I'd like to see 6 back but I just don't see it happening. I'll put them in order of highest chance to lowest.

You realize you can look at all of my posts for years? At least I think you can.
Current coaches plan was for BG to be the starting center. Just think about how that sounds.
If we have the strongest NIL package and still have yet to get a commitment from him that is an even worse reflection on pope as a coach. A commitment in the end because we paid a lot more isn’t a flex for popes recruiting efforts. Hell make me the coach for a million/year and I can recruit just as well if it just comes down to just writing a bigger check.
Seriously though, does anyone see this kid as possibly being a huge headache?
If he signs Stoke and hires a GM he’s probably bought himself two years.
Who knows but the win in the perceptions dept means a lot right now.

I’m not disagreeing but I will say that Self has some uncertainty of his own due to his health issues this year. No idea if that factors in or not but it’s not an inconsequential piece of info.

I’m a Pope guy but he has no chance of handling Stokes. Personality mismatch from hell. Bill Self has a 5 misdemeanor minimum on his rosters so I don’t think he’d be intimidated by Stokes.
That said, I’ll pay big money to watch Stokes and Pope playing chess while smoking big thick blunts on the next episode of BBN Tonight lol
I hope this is true. Not only would it be more money, he would be the guy without question and would play as many minutes as he wanted.
I would bet a lot that Jasper is gone this offseason. Not sure if Mo or Lowe are staying to be a backup either, and if we expect them to be backups you would think their NIL offers go down. Will they stay for less money and a smaller role? Lastly, I think Pope has shown he doesn't like Jelavic at the five. It will be an interesting offseason for sure.

To be clear I was referencing Self’s health issues and not either coach’s ability to manage Stokes personality.
BTW is Stokes’ supposed attitude issue a total internet myth? I’ve never seen any actual evidence that he’s some kind of problem child but it’s 100% possible I missed something.
Sounds like, as with JQ(yea, I know, blah blah blah, he aint playing right now), Stokes really, and the money is great, but he really wants to play here. Though he's originally from Louisville, I wonder if this means the family are more UK fans than UL fans.
No it’s pretty widely reported, agreed upon and known. He’s a rough one. That said everyone’s situation is different, I’m a clean guy now but this was me back in the day:
Well I do have coaching experience and before last season had as many NCAAT wins as pope had. I would also save the university 4 million/year. Coaching is not rocket science.
Even if we do land him, one stud recruit does not make a great recruiter IMO. I’m leaning on it atleast helping the dominos begin to fall so we can be highly competitive again sooner than later. State of the program is pretty awful at the moment and I’d love to see us back at the top again.

My info is from people I know personally. Not from a tweet or a video or an article. It’s not a done deal but just to know we are back in the running and making a strong push was enough for me to at least post it. I don’t throw out unwarranted things and I usually keep to myself but when we are down like we are positive news needs to be shared.
We have no shot at Stokes if our offer isn’t north of that. Way north of that. 7-8. That’s the only way a guy like stokes joins the current dumpster fire.
I think you're spot on. It would help the perception and others will start coming imo. Maybe not in droves but it shows we are a getter.
Nope do not work with Stokes, I do however work with several power conference teams and have friends who are in the know. In JQs situation injuries aren’t black and white, **** happens and I hate it for him and for us. It’s not always something nefarious or unreported sometimes it’s just facts and people want to speculate to make it sensational when it isn’t.
Give his mom and dad a special assistant job. 500k a peice on the side. Buy them a house. Didn’t my grandads UK do crap like that? Seems like growing up all I heard was UK cheats and pays players like Alabama football. When did we get away from winning no matter what? I’m halfway joking and halfway serious.
