Started snowing here about 15 mins ago. Too wet to be sticky anywhere at this time. We got a good amount of rain already.

So, as of 4 pm, we have 1/2" of new snow on the ground and the snow is just starting to accumulate on paved surfaces as temps are now down to 31F, so road conditions will start deteriorating quickly now.

We have more down here in South Wall/Allenwood. We are having a snow shoveling party at midnight. Ed Wong will be here spinning tunes. You are welcome to come.

How was off trail coverage?

I'm probably hitting Mt Creek on Wednesday, hopefully the winds calm down by then.
The mountain is fully opened. Great coverage on and off piste. Snow was perfect today since it was totally groomed but still a little soft. This storm is only going to make conditions better. I would even think Mountain Creek and Poconos will benefit. Funny thing on the maps Numbers and Bac posted is that Hunter is in the dark spot to get another 16+. But the rest of the Catskill area not as much.

I don’t know why people complain about things like that. I used to have to get in no matter what or get docked. I am happy to have the option to work remotely. Not looking for a day off when bad weather hits.
If it takes say 4 or more hours to clear your sidewalks/ driveway and/or you need to attend to kids home from school, then there are legitimate reasons not to work.

This is true. I’m working from home tomorrow from 7am-6pm with a 7 year old and a 4 year old. When am I supposed to do cleanup. It’s happening during daytime hours

Just saying it’s nice to have another option and not get docked. We didn’t even have the option of taking PTO at the time.

The blacktop here in Readington Township is fully covered, but the roadway is still mostly down to the pavement.

This is ahead of the NWS schedule, which had me at 33F with rain changing to snow at 4 pm. Not sure if that's meaningful or not...

As of 5 pm, we have 1.5" of new snow, so 1" the last hour and we're still at 31F. All roads now covered, as expected.

How far north are you?
In Metuchen and just realize that there doesn't appear to be any location information for posters, like there was on the old site, unless I'm missing it. I can see why it's not that big of a deal here, but people get shunned if they don't have the location info in their avatar on the weather boards, lol. He @DJ Spanky - is it possible to have a location that appears in one's avatar or at least on the profile? TIA.

Back in the '90's when there was no way to work remotely. We got snowed in while at work and the company put us all up in a motel so that we could get back to work in the morning. I remember riding in the bed of a pickup truck to some holiday inn off rt 1 in Edison. I thought I'd get frostbite on my ears from the trip.

A shame. That and not having tapes of the 1975-76 Rutgers basketball games from NJN.

Yup. Way different world without technology. Stayed in hotels but also did the sleeping bag on the office floor a bunch. I like the new way better!

Yeah, should be a decent east to west gradient, although as you know, sometimes it's where the best bands set up and that could still be NW of me, including you, so ya never know...

With respect to total gridlock this storm and Nov-2018 are tops for me, as both had a major surprise component and the timing was perfect: people went to work like it was a normal day with expectations of maybe a couple of inches of snow and then boom, heavy snowfall during the middle of the day - and then the group stupidity of sending everyone home at the same time creating a mess on the roads. Jan-87 I only had to go from the eng'g building on Busch to our house 1/2 mile away on Orris Ave in P'way, but even that took an hour and my roommate and I must've gotten out 4-5X to help stuck people. For Nov-18, with technology on my side, I knew before most how bad it was about to be and left work around 1 pm and it only took an extra 10 min (on a normal day my commute was 15 min).

November 18 was no joke. Spooked Gov. Murphy into brining anything and everything going forward. Rumor was that he never brined a TG turkey before that storm, but he does now or directs his chef to do it.
