Thoughts???

In the last RPI Iowa had only 2 wrestlers with enough matches to qualify.

Then:
By resting Kueter against Purdue he as at risk of not gaining an allocation due to no RPI and low win %.
By appearing to replace Bailey with Petersen that might be two.
By dropping Endene that is three.

Was there not a glitch either last year or the year before with Brands not submitting the proper paper work on one of the Iowa Wrestlers?

Alleged glitch. Can't be so sure it wasn't strategically intentional.

Not updating list for coaches ranking to include Teske over Cullen Shriver, at least one of the times. Maybe something else also related to Teske in another year.

If the season ended today, Iowa wouldn't get an allocation at 149, 157, 197 and 285. It's 149, 157 and 285 as I'm guessing they consider 197 an injury.

The reason I was thinking 197 was they may put Arnold there after spreading his matches across three weights.

Kueter won't get an allocation regardless. He's 5-5, so no 70% and no RPI.

Petersen will be >70% if he loses to Vega, would likely get a top 30 coaches' rank if Brands names him the starter before the next poll. Not that I would trust Brands to do this if I'm another B10 coach.

With one more dual and B1G Kueter still has a shot at 15 and an RPI.

So, if MM “only” gets a TF tonight, his average will decline (albeit only marginally). Crazy! 😜

I reached out to the NCAA on their X account. Who knows if a real human even monitors the messages there : )
I want to express my rant regarding the NCAA site - last year's wrestling brackets were screwed up/unusable (many wt classes were missing bout numbers, I believe that was the issue. So you couldn't easily fill in wrestleback brackets. The issue seems to have been fixed after the event was over because the final PDF looks fine.) Anyone remember? I tried to contact NCAA immediately (the Wed and Thu before NCAAs began), hoping someone would fix them but it never happened. Let's hope and pray they put out a correct set of brackets for this year's championship.

Is there such a thing as a nice cauliflower ear?
No, not at all. Nothing nice about it at all!

Wrestling is the greatest of sports, with just two blemishes, and unfortunately, they are rather large blemishes. 1) Excessive and unhealthy weight cutting (granted, it has improved greatly from when I wrestled in the late 70's early 80's and is now less common and better regulated) and 2) cauliflower ear. I don't care how successful the person who has it is, and that there is some badge of honor associated with it.......it is as ugly as it gets! I cannot understand why anybody would want to deform their body in this way. International organizations should require headgear in competition, and coaches and clubs should require it in practice.

I know this is pretty inconvenient and not a solution:

The brackets are identical every year, only the names change. If you have any recent past year's bracket (anything after the pigtail became 32 vs 33), then you have the answer.
