125 Luke vs Nic Bouzakis.
Bouzakis wrestles from one knee like Ferrari. He has tremendous upper body strength. How does Luke practice against that this week. How does he not get caught as some point as nic likes to use that upper body strength to throw people around. He has 9 wins by major or better this year.

Wow you are optimistic. Cannon 100 percent out still? Think they maybe saving him for big tens a little then ncaas.
Don’t know about 125. Think the way nic wrestles will cause Luke some issues. 133 also toss up. Blaze can keep pressure up until the end maybe the difference. Desmond against Mendez is better than Davis for sure. Score you posted looks pretty good. Osu 185 and heavy weight. Not impressive. Stall stall stall. They were both gassed.

Bouzakis got dinged up at the end of the match wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t go, same with Kcharla. If Bouzakis does go really seems like you have to avoid the big move early and his pace fades fairly quickly.

133 is the match of the night feels like a one takedown match with two great defensive wrestlers.

I don't know how I am so optimistic when Cael has never proven to know which duals to peak for or how to have a team ready to crush tOSU. Tan Tom does have the better program but for some odd reason I think Cael may have the better team, but just this one time.

Watching Iowa match yesterday only Mendez and nic were really assertive in their approach. 133 was similar although he was t remarkable but keeps winning, Even though nic was on his knee he kept moving forward and attacking. Mirasola made a mistake in his match last week not understanding that 25 seconds were left in a tight match. He tried to force something and Mich guy who wasn’t that great stalled whole 3rd period because he could. Feldman seems way out of shape. Only 237 lbs.

Did they say what happened to him. He was grabbing his side at the end when he was twisted. I would think osu would want this victory though. Take down psu end the streak.

TT has a history of sitting guys, if I recall correctly.

I was pessimistic (I worry about stuff), but with Cannon likely out, I don’t see a path for tOSU. They need everything to go perfectly.

I think Mendez will TF Davis. If Braden gets himself into bad positions like he often does, he won't be able to get out of it against Mendez and give up the fall. Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about this.

If Cannon doesn't go and there is any sort of a lingering injury to PJ from that Catrabone match we end up seeing Sealy. IMO.

Here is OSU's perfect night..........in my humble opinion
125 0-6 Nick gets an unexpected pin
133 0-9 Davino gets the win in a wild one
141 0-15 Mendez with the pin
149 4-15 SVN takes control early and pours it on
157 4-18 Cannon with the very hard fought win
165 9-18 need points, ask Mitch
174 13-18 Levi, same
184 16-18 Rocco wins trying for a major but falls short
197 20-18 Barr does his thing
HWT 20-21 Feldman does just enough to win.....barely.

Luke is wrestling great and I don't see him getting pinned. If Luke wins, the path to an OSU win is very, very small.
133 is a tossup.
Mendez is great but is more likely a TF. I am sure there will be some ND vs BD talk later this week.........Davis goes.
SVN looks great......if he can keep from giving up the first TD
Cannon winning, even if healthy, isn't a stretch. If PJ wins, it would be a very very mild upset.
165 on is Penn State dominance.......the question is by how much
HWT - Cole can beat Feldman. I don't think I would have said that in the beginning of the year, but it is clear he is right there with the best guys in the BT. He would have two more wins had he taken neutral like any coach but Cael would encourage him to do.

This site is giving the yuks way too much credit.

It’s true they are having a great season by many measures.

however they are wrestling a coach, a team and a program of historical measures

we smoke them 8-2 or 7-3 in matches.

They will have less than 10 tds overall with most being at 141.

they will stall their asses off. We will type a lot about their lack of engagement and refs swallowing their whistle.

so as fans after the beat down happens, just return to the line, take off your bands, place them nicely down and walk off the mat.

That’s who WE ARE!

Who goes at 141 will be interesting. Was that Nate’s last free date to use? Actually think there might be a better chance he’d avoid getting pinned. Davis is still adjusting to the weight and with being dinged up, wouldn’t mind seeing him get another week off.

I don't think we see NB for the OSU at 125. Levi is a bad matchup for anyone, especially Karch, so I'll go major. Allred beat Fishback, so I'm giving Rocco a major here too, because he's jumped levels in the PSU room.

The offseason talk about the incoming class was rightly focused mainly on PJ, Blaze, Ono, and a bit on Henkel. But Desmond has been the biggest surprise for me, he’s skyrocketed past expectations imo. Going to really be interesting to see how he gets into the lineup over the next few years. What a legendary freshman class we have this year.

I thought Nate really looked big last night. I can see why Cael hinted he'll never see 125 in the future. I do wonder after NEXT year if he could go 149 to replace SVN especially IF Ono ever got TWO years. Luke, Marcus, Ono, Nate...whew!!!

Because he was hoping the ref would bail him out with a PD stoppage. That's something that drives me crazy by the way. If it's an uncontrollable situation, then sure blow the whistle. But guys shouldn't be able to intentionally put themselves in bad positions to get saved.

We must have been watching different screens. Ragusin is new to 141 and not big at that weight, but he appeared to tower over Desmond. Major size differential. With my eyes, I could see maintaining 125 long-term being difficult for Desmond, but IMO he is more than one off-season away from being a "full-sized" 141, let alone jumping to 149 (barring a growth spurt).

It was a great win for Desmond, that young man has no quit in him, but IMO Braeden Davis probably majors this year's Ragusin.

Bouzakis and davino both seemed to shut it down the 2nd half of their matches. They didn't seem to be breathing heavy, but had almost no activity. Makes me think they have tough cuts. Not a conditioning issue. Something to watch for on Friday.

Since it is now Ohio State week, this as good as time as any to bring this up.
National Duals. Ohio State won the tournament and did so looking miles ahead of the competition in conditioning and preparation. I posted back then it will be interesting to see how OSU's season plays out as far as injuries and other possible complications associated with having an early season peak.

No idea if Bouzakis is injured and wrestles Friday night, but it appears to me OSU has been having a few nagging in season injuries in the past month. This something the guys in Lorenzo have been paying attention to, and the same guys will be in interested in how OSU's post season plays out.

Those PIA in season injuries are what will keep PSU from participating in the National Dual tournament.

In a word, quickness. Live up the Lightning Luke moniker by getting quick takedowns and not getting into a position where Bouzakis can use that strength. Getting ahead early and forcing Bouzakis to wrestle from behind. Given a choice take neutral.

Looked like his lower back on the replay and I know from experience that can keep one down a while.

It would be wild to see Ono at 141. Totally surprise Tan Tom and preserve Desmond's RS.
