ESPN "owns" the ACC as the little brother to the SEC. And, of course, the ACC now has a bit of "gravitas" since Miami got to the NCG.

VT and GT should do dueling "Ramblin' Wrecks." Actually, the GT RW looks nice, a really spiffy restored 1930 Ford Model A. This thing suits VT to a "T," it looks like something the Beverly Hillbillies would ride in.

We'll find out when PSU eventually plays VT in some kind of bowl game, because you just know that that is going to happen, probably sooner rather than later; it would be delicious if it were in a playoff game.

I would bet that the article, which I didn’t read because of its source, never mentions how Franklins minions who were still PSU employees, worked to actively undermine Penn State’s recruiting classes before they jumped ship.

What possibly could go wrong with a Southern Cal. kid traveling thousands of miles to the metropolis of Blacksburg, VA to spend the next four to five years of his life? I bet that that commit won't age well. My guess is that it wouldn't have aged well at PSU either.

I see a minimum of 3 losses for VT next year - Virginia, Miami and Clemson - the Spitter might even be motivated to beat Franklin due to his PSU ties and how the little brothers over there hate all things PSU.

Call me shocked that someone just HAD to start a thread about this article. Frankly, I could care less but since you brought up the subject how many Iowa State players followed Campbell to Penn State?

So true. If anything, VT's head coach just will be grooming a lot of these recruits to be poached by Big 10 and SEC schools when they become ripe; they won't be much different than Pitt whose best defensive player went to Texas after this season.

I'm guessing it started with "fired" by his former school ... midseason ... a few games after a National semifinal appearance. lol

Franklin will have a couple of non-losing seasons, appear on the ESPN desk a few times (probably during the playoffs while Va Tech goes to a meaningless bowl), and do just enough self-promotion to get a chance at the USC job when Riley finally gets canned.

Franklin had the advantage of a head start. He won't have that advantage or any other going forward. Hokie fans are soon going to realize that Franklin's "success" at Penn State had more to do with Penn State than it did Franklin.

I thought we were supposed to cheer for all the people who leave PSU…and Franklin didn’t even leave voluntarily. Hate the guy who got forced out but cheer for the guys who choose to leave…that makes sense.
